Sudden training restriction put upon me!

I'm confused... I have created 12 training videos in total, 10 of which are for a course I'm building on How To Use ScreenFlow Software To Create Movies for websites and blogs.

I just created my 11th lesson video and when I tried to upload it and add it to my training I received this message...

"Training Restricted

Oops! You are not permitted to create training at Wealthy Affiliate just yet. You must be a Premium member for at least 3 months before you are allowed to create training tutorials, courses, or video's.

You can begin creating training soon, and we look forward to your contributions at that time."

I don't get it. I've already created 12 training videos which uploaded successfully but now I'm restricted and can't upload any more. Is this a new rule that Kyle and Carson introduced overnight? The last movie I uploaded was only 24 hours ago.

Has anyone else suffered this issue? Can anyone explain why this sudden restriction has been put upon a premium member who is trying to contribute to this WA community?

I hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks,

Phil.

Hey guys.

Thought this may help someone.

Still awaiting my training restriction to be lifted. I thought it was going to be June 13 but that was the day I joined on the free account. I upgraded a week later which I think is when the 3 month wait starts. Hopefully it'll be lifted on September 20.

I must say, I completely understand why Kyle and Carson did this. More great work from the guys.

Our leaders have rules for the best of the community in mind. I am sure. Do teaching videos for my classroom but three months wouldn't have been long enough for me to create training in IM. Will be a year here in a couple of months, and am not ready.
Everyone is different. I do look forward to your training as I am a Mac User and ScreenFlow is an application I have downloaded and not effectively used since iMovie is the application am more familiar with.
So a few more days. Hang in there Phil - you have essentially made a pre-launching announcement getting us ready to learn when your training can be released. ^_~

Thanks Caylynn.

A lot of what rich said is what made me hesitant to even add training. Sometimes when you don't follow people you don't even realize they have done similar training. I don't think Kyle and Carson would intentionally implement this against any one person but for the good of the whole community.

To be honest sometimes my email is barraged with blogs and training that contain little or no value. I'm not familiar with screen flow nor have I seen prior training on this so I'm sure it is quality and at least unique.

I'm glad your restriction is almost up and you can continue soon. I'll look forward to watching all of your videos.

another consideration is that training does get outdated. I've recently actually tried to follow along a video and the website was completely over hauled and it was semi difficult to parallel the video to it. If people leave WA and then don't update their content training or like rich said provide feedback it just leaves others more work or even some people may not get answers at all.

Thanks for the blog as I was unaware of the new changes.

Thanks. I can see everyone's point. I've put a lot of work into this training so far and I've done it because people were asking how to use the software. Hopefully I'll be free to continue in a couple of days.

No disrespect to you Phil, you may well have researched your training first and it may be top quality.

However the fact is there are an awful lot that are posted on here which are repeating what has already been done - I even saw one the other day actually introducing itself with "just to reiterate what has already been done...." and as Rich said, to newcomers in particular it can be overwhelming and confusing.

I personally would block anybody from posting any training for at least a year without prior permission. I would imagine the only purpose a lot of it serves is adding content to the site which may help with ranking but beyond that a lot of it is pointless and unnecessary.

Too much blogging and posting and not enough work is going to get us all nowhere. I respect both of you guys and mean no disrespect and not referring to you but my inbox is getting blown up and I'm really considering not following people anymore.

Most blogs I read I can't even read half of it because it is just reworded and rephrased stuff we learn here and has no value.

I personally had not done training until a week ago because most stuff I learned here already and there is already training on it.

Thanks for an excellent blog and I hope you finish your training soon.

Exactly. Again, no disrespect to Phil but there is one guy out there who has been posting 4 or 5 blogs a day recently. Now if that's what they want to do it's up to them but I don't get it.

If you chose a niche then wrote an article or review for 4 or 5 products a day instead you would have a site with an average of 400 products for sale inside three months.

I don't even get the time to open all the emails any more and have to select the ones from the title that look likely to be useful, or are of interest to me in my spare time. But really, let's all just get on with it!

Sorry Mikey and Rich, I asked you to read my comment before I posted it.... Dahhhh! And I'm offering training - LOL!

LOL, no probs. :) Rich.

LOL

Hi to Mikey and Rich.

Just wanna say thanks to you guys, not just for support on this post, but others in the past as well. Thanks for both of your replies and everything you say makes perfect sense to me.

I guess I just became confused because of the "all of a sudden" ban from uploading training videos when I've been doing so for the past couple of months.

Mikey, I did search for my course very hard and came up with nothing like I'm planning to provide so I'm confident my course will be unique.

Rich, I hear what you say and completely understand that there is a lot of "repeated" info on WA and that's why I did a lot of research into my course on WA before beginning to create it.

So I guess I'll just have to wait for a while to get going again but rest assured, I plan to be around on WA for a long time to come, to answer questions about my course/s and help people move forward in their lives.

Thanks again guys, you're great and I appreciate your ongoing support.

Cheers,

Phil.

I guess I will be waiting too now for any more training, till Oct 9th....Its not just you!

No probs. I doubt Kyle and Carson will ever pre-announce such general restrictions, simply because it might cause a "rush" to beat the deadline. I completely accept what you're saying, but in the long run you will benefit as well. If your join date is correct in your profile, then you're only a couple of days away from being able to continue as normal. I know that I suffered "information overload" when I started, and newcomers misbelieving that everything with an orange "training" tag is worthwhile, essential and necessary to success in their early days especially in the volumes it's been appearing recently does mean this restriction makes a lot of sense to me. :) Rich.

I agree with Rich, the site is flooded with tutuorials that are already covered. Search for your course content within WA before uploading a new training just to see how much is already on there.

Hey Mikey. Please read my comment above.

Phil I did read the comment above my friend, thats what I answered...

Hey Phil. I've seen an avalanche of "newcomers" making training recently, more for "promotional" purposes than because it's of benefit to the community. I've found much of it is already covered in core training or conflicts with it or isn't of quality or value. That's not saying yours or many others fall into this category, but a lot does. There's also the "argument" that those creating training should be here for the "long haul" and be available to answer any "comments" on their training. If someone puts up loads of training and only stays a month and is then never around to answer questions on their tutorials, it means other Members have to step into the breach. I've had to deal with several newcomers recently who've been misled by Member training but haven't realised that it isn't "policed" nor is any of it "officially" sanctioned. I believe you're only a few days away from the three month general restriction and you'll be able to add to your body of work then. It will also mean your own training won't keep getting "swamped" by repetitive and unnecessary competition. :) Rich.

Hey Rich. Please read my comment above.

Sorry, Phil, I don't understand. It's not personal to you but a "general" restriction if that's what wasn't clear in my comment?! :) Rich.
