CoolText - Create FREE Logos for your websites
Hi all.
I've been using CoolText for years to create logos and custom headings for my website pages. After doing a search on WA I was surprised to find no mention of CoolText so I thought I'd spread the love and let fellow members know about this powerful, user friendly and free website.
If you want to create your own custom headings with a choice of thousands of variations, check this website out - it's brilliant and won't cost you a cent.
There are many font categories each containing many types of styles including animated GIFs. You can save your creation in .jpg and .png (transparent) formats or download the code for the heading you created. You can then insert your creation into your web pages via the "Add Media" link in Wordpress.
Here's the link to the main page. Enjoy!
Phil.

Yep, very useful tool. Have mentioned it in comment places. Great you have taken the time to post it too. ^_~
That's absolutely fantastic, nice one Phil.
One of the most useful posts I have seen on WA for quite some time, highlighting something that's quick and simple to use and easy to understand for everybody. Exactly how it should be.
I spend ages sometimes trying to create a simple text logo. Cooltext is one of the easiest and most straightforward design apps I have seen in a long while. Thanks.
Actually cooltext is mentioned and demonstrated in 1 of the training videos. I used it to create a custom header for my site. Thanks for the heads up though.
Hey Phil, I'm with you - I love cool text. It's useful for TONS of things. Logos, favicons, text over images...
One thing I like to do, when I'm stuck and can't find a relevant image for my post is to take a keyword and turn it into a text graphic with cool text. It's a really useful tool.
That's a brilliant idea Marcel, I like that. Don't forget to add the keyword as alt.text for the image too.
Yes I personally think it's worth doing. It's a good place to add keywords that you can't fit into your article, for example.
Say you are promoting an item, let's call it an "Acme A1", you can put something like "See our full range of Acme products at (yourwebsite).com" as the alt.text
This effectively puts your web address into the image so it gets listed many more times on Google.
