Improving My Voiceovers
Improving My Voiceovers
The software that I'm using to produce my training videos has the facility of generating an AI voiceover from the text.
It does a pretty good job, but for the last one that I produce for WA, I decided that it would be more personal if I did the voiceover myself.
Now I'm pretty sure (or at least hopeful) that I'll get better with practice, but one thing I realised was that the microphone built into my headphones just wasn't cutting it.
And the one thing I've read over and over about video creation is that the quality of the audio is paramount.
So I've ordered this desk mic from Amazon.

It's coming from the US and should arrive early December.
Looking forward to improving my voiceovers.

One should never compromise the quality of the audio when creating videos Phil...
Love the look of your new mic though, I hope it exeeds your expectations when it arrives, but.... Amazon???
Can't believe you still use them after all of the runaround (to put it politely) they have given you lately!! :-)
Amazon's customer experience is excellent. It's one reason why they are so successful. These latest measures, draconian as they are, are all about winnowing out non-performing affiliates.
You should avoid using the background music, it was very annoying. I was reluctant to tell you when so many people were congratulating you for the video. But I see you bring this issue here with the new microphone, so perhaps you would not mind my comment and you would consider it.
Yes, I'd come to the same conclusion. It was inserted automatically by the software but I think I know how to remove it. Thanks for mentioning it.

Good morning Phil,
Thank you for sharing your choice of microphone, you can't beat having crystal clear sound for voice-overs, etc. As I mentioned in the chat, I purchased a cheaper microphone as the Blue Yeti was out of stock. Although it was recommended by Amazon and had good reviews. Unfortunately, the sound was not very clever, I should have returned the microphone.
I hope to try the Blue Yeti soon, let's see what happens.
I hope your weekend went well.
All the best.
Roy
If that's the same one that Jay uses, it should give you a great result.
You might like to check out my latest blog post at Getting Ready for Amazon's Update It has a link to the video with the voiceover.
Thank you, Phil, I will have a look. I didn't realise your latest post was related to the microphone.
I hope so, Phil. I asked a question on here some time ago about microphones and that is what the community said. So I hope it will be good.
All the best.
Roy
The latest post is about the upcoming Amazon changes, but I used the new mic for the associated video voiceover.
Your voice certainly came over very clear on the training, Phil, which is great. I would be very happy with that if it was my microphone.
Roy
Thanks, Roy, glad to hear it.
