March 2024 Update
Well! What a month that was!
You may not have seen much of me on WA during March. Being a procrastinator and possibly ADHD, I'm easily distracted by anything and everything I see as more interesting than what I'm doing. So, I thought I had better try to stay focused during March.
I have short-term and long-term goals, which revolve around the number of articles I write. At the end of February, I posted 25 articles, and I set a goal of another 25 to finish March, ticking the 50 posts marker.
Some days it just was not possible. I managed to stay focused and achieved this month's goal. I am satisfied with my progress.
While waiting for my Google Search Console stats to come through for the 31st, I thought I'd spend the day tackling Adsense. Google nearly had me in tears this morning. After a couple of hours of going around in ever diminishing circles, I swallowed my pride and called on WA Site Support. No matter what I tried I just could not get the Adsense verification script onto my site.
The team at Site Support helped me through this step and applied the script manually into the header for me. My heartfelt thanks to Site Support! 👏👏👏
I then had to jump through a few more Adsense hoops. One of which was that Adsense did not recognise my Isle of Man phone number as a valid +44 number. Not a happy Manxman!
A brighter diversion. I just happen to be at a hotel close to Heathrow Airport, London enroute to Thailand, to join my wife. I quickly walked to the nearest convenience store and bought a UK SIM card. Cellphone number sorted! Adsense happy again. I then tidied up the loose-ends of GDPR, and CPRA privacy settings. I am pleased to announce that my website is now Adsense enabled. Though probably, no ads for a further day or so until it's reviewed.
This brings me back to the website progress in traffic over the last 28 days. The impressions and clicks were building steadily, but as the website is very young, I wasn't expecting anything striking. Until that is; I noticed a classic bullish chart move over the last seven days of 'higher highs, and higher lows'.
Though not fully up to date, this chart from Search Console does include most of the traffic for Monday 31st. Two thousand impressions for the 28 days ending 31st March compared to last month's 84 impressions! [Edit]The final day‘s figures are in. I’m still in an upward trend, and I have replaced the previous image.
I will be checking in for my flight to Thailand shortly. I will blog when I can and post articles on my website when I can. It's a long-overdue holiday for me, and I'm looking forward to spending some time with my wife. I'm not going to be ambitious this month, but my focus for April will be to create, edit and post five videos on my website linked YouTube channel.
I forgot to mention my Search Console achievement award. Twenty clicks in the past 28 days in 29th March.
That's it for this month. Keep writing those articles everyone.
