What a stupid I am
In 1968 Roberto asked his playing partner what he shot on a particular hole and somehow after the exchange of numbers the partner wrote the wrong score down for Roberto. (they keep score for the other one in the pros and many amatuer events) but they had to remember their own score also. Once a player signs for the score that's the end of it. if he made a mistake as Roberto did he loses. In this case a major professional golf tournament. The Masters.
The lesson? Slow down and check everything one step at a time. He had birdied the hole that was marked as a par. He told reporters after how stupid he felt and that line "what a stupid I am" became popular before we had 'viral' terms.
What sinks in further and deeper daily are lessons like that one that come back to me as I learn foundational items. One foot in front of the other. Inch at a time. That doesn’t sound reasonable when I read it back but it comes down to these 5 items:
- 1.If I am to be an affiliate marketer then I need a blog with good to great content on it that is SEO tight and then they will come. Right?
- 2.When they come then I will work on other traffic sources, sales funnels, and email marketing, and all the rest. Right now it takes most of my resources to learn article writing people want to read. Make sense?
- 3.One follows the other. Content, seo, marketing. Don’t worry about a good email capture service, or having a good freebie to get people to sign up. Write top quality content first, then they will come. Once they come on a regular basis I will monetize. Sound solid?
- 4.I let myself fret over learning it all right away. I can’t work like that. I can only have one number one priority. So content it is. Reasonable?
- 5.I’ve read it all, I’ve bookmarked the good stuff and I’ll go back to it when the time is right. It’s nice to just work on producing content people will read. Agreed?

Hey Paul,
You have made a great point in this post, and I take away that you are serious in your intention of developing content and skills as a blogger.
I see by others comments that they agree with this.
I think you might also benefit by the opinion of others in how well you are writing currently. In this you might look back at your other posts and the comments associated with them.
Though encouraging, we as members serve as sounding board for progress and I for one have discovered your abilities to be entertaining and well written. Are they good enough to convince others to revisit your sites, buy from your sites etc.
This can only be ascertained by blogging on them and monitoring what the reactions are. Knowing what to look for will help.
By the way, once again we are on the same page as I too have writing in the batters box...Look 'em straight in the eye and show no fear.

It is always nice to be reminded not to skip ahead and to put one foot in front of the other. Thank You Maryann

Paul,
Well said.
Content is king.
At times I get burned out on SEO strategies, because I'm putting the cart before the horse.
Today I leisurely read a magazine at the doctor's office. My time passed pleasantly when I was engaged with what I was reading.
Writing should be that easy.
A conversation about a relevant topic to my audience.
It is a breath of fresh air when you leave an article with a different vantage point or some bit of information that can make your life easier.
I want to write like that.
All the Best,
Louisa
I agree! The foundation is strong content that people can find. Without it, everything else is a waste.
