Are there any specific tutorials on building a website selling items you have created
Hi patty. I don't know of any. But if I were you, I would check out as many websites out there selling items similar to yours for ideas. Then you can apply them to your own site here. There is always help here from either the members or tutorials with regard to plcing article's and images.
Hi
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm a lampwork jewelry artist and have a website hosted on another site which I built. I am going to recreate the site here using Wordpress and was looking for some specific information on using/creating/connecting a shopping cart to Wordpress. Since I have never used Wordpress, I'm sure I will take advantage of all the learning curve help I can get here at WA, while building the basic site.
Thanks again,
Patty

I'm back again patty. Have you checked out the classrooms? There doesn't seem to be any of the experienced guys here tonight. On the left hand side of the page. Click on classrooms and a load of topics pop up. What your looking for might bee there. Hope you get help soon. There are a lot of tutorials there. Judy

I'm new here and I have a question I seem to be having a problem getting answered. I'm a glass bead artist and make jewelry with my beads. My question is does the website softwa
Yes, as a Premium member of WA you get access to all the plugins within Wordpress, there are many ecommerce plugins. You are also going to learn how to properly promote your website here at WA, because without traffic there is no sense in having a product.
This is going to all be covered and discussed as you move through training and you may never need to have your own payment option if you go the "etsy" route which is one of the more popular ways that people with similar businesses like you sell their products (within that platform that handles payment, etc).
Hope this helps you out Patricia! :)
Thanks, Kyle, i was actually thinking about using Etsy, but wasn't sure how that would work - would you have the pictures of the products on WA and then also the same pictures on Etsy? That would seem like double work - i have a website, which I built - that's why I wondered about the plug-ins for Wordpress
As i think about it - i do like the idea of Etsy because you would find some built in traffic - I'm just excited to get started and as long as I know that it's possible to be able to sell one's own products here, I'll go premium before I start anything.
Etsy would be your storefront. You would get a lot of exposure by being part of the Etsy platform, but you would also be able to use an website to get traffic to your Etsy store, get traffic and also earn money in various other ways through your website.
Excellent I just had a reader ask if they could sell their own products and I really want to be able to help this guy out
Hey Patricia. I'll add what I said in chat here. There's numerous ecommerce solutions for WordPress. I think probably one of the most popular is WooCommerce which integrates with their own range of themes and many other developers themes as well. You can find more information on it over at Woo's site http://www.woothemes.com :) Rich.
