One day a father took his son on a trip to show him how poor people lived. They spent a few days on a farm with a poor family. On their return, the father asked the son:

How was the trip?
It was great dad!
Did you see how poor the people live?, asked the father.
Oh yea, said the son
So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?

The son answered:

  • We have one dog, they have four!
  • We have a pool in the middle of our garden, they have a creek that has no end.
  • We have lanterns in our garden, they have the stars!
  • Our patio reaches our front yard, they have the horizon!
  • We have a small piece of land, they have fields that go beyond sight.
  • We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
  • We buy our food, they grow theirs.
  • We have walls to protect us, they have their friends to protect them.

The father was speechless. Then, the son added...

Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are! ~Anonymous Parable

Boy is there ever a lesson in this blog. Thank you so much for sharing this.

True stuff.

Never heard this one. Did you write it? It's fantastic.

No, it is an old parable, wish I was that insightful!

That is really good. I am going to memorize it! Thanks for posting it.

A partner in a prestigious Wall Street brokerage firm pulls up to his office building. The chauffeur gets out opens the door for the executive and then the chauffeur lifts the brokers son out of the limo and carries him into the building. One of the junior executives sees this and says to the partner, "I'm sorry about your son". The executive goes, "What do you mean?" The junior exec says, "I'm sorry your son can't walk". "Ohhhhh, I see!" says the partner, "He can walk, but Thank God, he doesn't have to".

I am very much love this story.

This story is a good one, we still have lots to learn, see what we have from a different point of view, make us richer!
Thanks for sharing
