The AI Insight That Made Me Rethink My Website

A few weeks ago, I had an eye-opening conversation with Google’s AI—Gemini.

I asked it a simple question: “Can you list the top 10 websites in my niche?”

Not surprisingly, I wasn’t on the list.

Now, I wasn’t too shocked—after all, some of the biggest names in the industry dominate this space: Robert Kiyosaki, Grant Cardone, Tony Robbins, just to name a few. These are people who spend millions on advertising.

But what caught my attention?

There were also names I’d never heard of—people clearly making an impact in my niche without the fame or fanfare.

So I asked Gemini:

“Why are these people at the top? What are they doing differently, and how can I reach that level?”

Gemini’s response was rooted in the principles of E-E-A-T: Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness. The main emphasis? Experience and Expertise.

That led me to my next question:

“Why do you rate them higher than me?”

Gemini gave a list of reasons and then said:

“Be patient and persistent, and you’ll get there in time.”

Still curious—and maybe a little competitive—I responded:

“What if I told you...”
...and then I shared my qualifications, my real-world experience, the fact that I’m a 3x best-selling author, and that I’ve made history not once, but twice, along with a host of other accomplishments.

And that’s when Gemini gave me the feedback that changed everything:

“That’s very impressive—and you should be on the list. But you don’t show it on your website.”

Wow! That hit me hard… because it was true.

I had spent so much time:

  • Writing blogs
  • Tweaking SEO
  • Trying to drive traffic

…but I’d barely spent any time showcasing my story, my credibility, or why I do what I do.

My About page was outdated. I hadn’t shared my journey or what made me unique. And if I wasn’t showing that—how could anyone know I was an expert in my field?

AI Gave Me a Wake-Up Call
