Beware of Scam on Social Media
Hi All,
Just wanted to inform you about the scam on Instagram. This man is followed by several Wealthy Affiliate members so I thought he was one of us.
Luckily, I never send money to anyone that I don't know personally but I was thinking about him for days. I was thinking if he really was one of us and how dishonest he was. Then yesterday I saw, his insta profile was not active any more, no photo, no name, nothing - just an "instagram user".
However, beware, there is scam everywhere1

Thats why I set up my social media pages, especially IG to be Anti-Social unless I know you. lol lol lol I get scammer request all the time to follow me or be my friend. ugh😒

I want to attract some traffic to my site, that's why I keep it open. But as you say, I have to deal with such foolishness.
Also, one of my two Instagram profiles was hacked last week. They kept the photo but they changed the name. Luckily, my daughter helped me restore it.
Wow! I have never had my IG account hacked since I opened it up 10 years ago. I understand, wanting the traffic but I would use it solely as a show and tell.

Maybe on some of your photos, you can have your website featured in them,
that would tell people how to find it while keeping your IG open for viewing but not for let's say commenting or following.
I have not been on IG in a while. But that's how I got my basic account set up. I know if you choose a professional account you lose a lot of those abilities to restrict dubious traffic.

It's funny, but I've found on of the minor things I've noticed in a lot of scams is thinking it's 1500$ instead of $1500. Don't know why.
