Chicken and Egg - Nourish Your Future

One day, back in April of this year, I sent my wife to our local Tractor Supply store to pick up a few essential items, dog food, lawn seed, etc... Several hours later, she showed up back home with the items I had asked her to pickup. However, to my surprise, she also bought 12 little baby chicks!

I asked her, "what are we going to do with chickens?"

Her response, "raise them so we can have fresh eggs!"

What a great idea... But, at the time we had no place to keep 12 chickens. So, over the next several weeks, I went to work to build a chicken coop. In the meantime, these small chicks took up residency in a large tub on my side of the garage.

We did a lot of research on raising chickens (did you know that there are groups on Facebook devoted to Chicken 101?), during our research we learned that chickens have to be ~18 weeks old before they begin laying eggs. I was sure to point out that little tidbit of information to my wife.

As summer approached, the chicken coop was nearing completion and the chicks were growing quickly. It soon became time to move the chickens into their new home. While we were relocating the chickens from the garage to their new coop, I was sure to point out to my wife;

These little birds better start paying the rent soon!

I could go on and on about the work involved in raising chickens, building a coop, and the daily feeding and caring. But, I don't want to drag this blog post out too long.

Fast forward to today - Our chickens are doing good. They seem to be happy and have learned how to care for themselves. We can let them out of their coop in the morning, and by night time they are all back in the coop ready to be locked up for the night. All we have to do now is feed, water, and maintain their health.

In return - we get a batch of Farm Fresh Eggs everyday!

The moral of this story is - Affiliate Marketing is like Raising Chickens!

  1. First you have to come up with a niche idea
  2. Then you have to acquire a domain name for your niche
  3. Then you build a website to house your domain name
  4. Then you have to do keyword research for good SEO
  5. Then you have to develop content around your keywords
  6. Now go back to step 4 --- And do it all again

There is a lot of work, that initially has to be done, to get your Affiliate Marketing business off the ground. However, once you have your Affiliate Marketing business built, then all you need to do to keep it generating income is feed it a little content each day!

Our chickens are pretty spoiled really. Each morning they stand patiently at the door waiting o be let out.

They love their chicken scratch too!

It has, now we have fresh eggs (much better than store bought, I might add) everyday!
