Why Do We Do The Things We Do?

Hello Everyone,

I am so excited and I am sitting still JUST because I have to write this post tonight! Just finished being a participant in the first official webinar with Bo Tipton, my mentor on this WA GoGetters Journey!

It was awesome. We were all there and I could tell that we were just soaking up all that Bo had to say. I think the part where he said that the next assignment was to write a post about the webinar and that it would be due tomorrow, made us all the more focused - I know I was.

SO, what did we talk about?

We talked, or maybe, let me rephrase that - Bo talked and we listened.

The main points were:

• the outcome of our first assignment
• the goals for this group
• the reason we are in this group
• the commitment in terms of a scheduled time to work
• the key point - consistency - your focus determines your outcome
• the structure of the classes

The outcome of our first assignment

It was simply wonderful to see the individuality of each other in the individual interpretation of just one video! Bo wanted us to realize that we are individuals with a unique view - we all have our own USP - unique selling point - and this is what we bring to table, to the creation of our website!

The goal for this group

In this section, Bo spent some time discussing his goals that he set for the group over the next couple of months. He also said that he knows the accomplishment of the goals will happen sooner than we think as long as we take action to that effect. In a nut shell, Bo wants us to:

• Pay it forward
• Be a mentor to others here at WA as they are getting started
• In one year, to have all websites make a consistent monetary income of $1,000.00

Sounds good to me. His goals definitely resonate with mine.

The reason we are in this group

Here, the focus was more on us as individuals. Bo wanted us to ask ourselves a few questions:

• why are we here (in this group)?
• what have we learned thus far?
• are we willing to change our websites?
• do we want to make money?
• if the going gets tough, will we throw the towel in and drop out?
• how do we give our readers (to our website) value?
• are we willing to accept guidance?

It was and still is a self-searching moment. I have to reflect on the answers and get focused.

The commitment in terms of a scheduled time to work

Aha, the time commitment! Yes, we need to be committed to this membership project. We have to give 20 hrs each week and we need to be accountable. Bo wants us to submit a schedule of the time that we will be working on the project each day.

Whether it is in 4 hours, 5 hours, 7 hours blocks of time. He needs to be able to reach us if needed while we are 'at work'. In other words, a commitment of time when we say we will be working.

Yes, it is a serious aspect.

The key point - consistency - your focus determines your outcome

In this section, Bo made a beautiful quote - Your Focus Determines Your Output - I love it!

He spoke about being consistent in order to see results. It's funny, the things he reflects on are so basic and prove that truly, life is simple, it's just 'US' who sometimes make the living of life so difficult. As the cliche goes - sometimes we get in our own way!

The structure of the classes

One of the most important parts of this webinar was where Bo expounded on the structure of the project. His plans in terms of teaching. He applauded the great tools available here at Wealthy Affiliates and the need to use them because that is what they are there for and that it is in using them that we will achieve success online.

It is as simple as that.

Of course, a little fine-tuning will be done, but the bulk of the learning is right here on this platform. He went on to give examples of basic content writing structure, social marketing, visiting other successful websites and gleaning information from them, back linking strategies, driving traffic, using images effectively, and so forth.

Conclusion

I am still excited to be a part of this team. I realize that it will a course filled with lots of tasks and the implementation of these tasks, but I am not afraid of hard work. Success means action, effort and commitment to a cause. I am ready to do this.

Writing this post also makes the community a part of the journey and my commitment to them as well. This community is my accountability partner in spirit along with other members on this journey.
