Comments and Feedback

As we all know another great aspect here at Wealthy Affiliate is giving comments and feedback on other peoples websites. By doing this you earn credits that can be redeemed for you to receive comments and feedback on your website.

I have noticed lately that a few people are writing posts because they are upset that there comments have been disapproved. I have also noticed that I am having to disapprove more comments to my website because they are actually feedback. So I felt it was a good idea to write this post to make everyone aware of the differences between the two aspects.

Comments are requested when a person wants a comment on a specific page and what a person usually expects from these comments is:

  • Things you like about the specific post, article, or product that is discussed.
  • Questions you have about the specific post, article, or product that is discussed.
  • Ways you relate to the specific post, article, or product that is discussed.
  • Things you agree with about a specific post, article, or product discussed.

An example of a bad comment that will most likely be disapproved by the website owner because it is not a comment is:

Hello Amy,

I think your website looks good. I like the information you provide on infant bathing techniques. Your theme fits your topic perfectly and I really like the colors of your website. You are doing a good job, keep up the good work!

An example of a good comment is:

Hello Amy,

Thank you for providing this great article on bathing techniques for infants. I found this article very helpful since I just had my first child. Do you think using a infant bathtub is safer than putting my baby in the sink for baths?

Feedback is requested when a person wants feedback on a specific area of there website unless the feedback is general feedback then you can provide your feedback on the website overall. This specific feedback could be on there content, images, site design, or layout of the page. What people usually expect from this feedback is:

  • Specific aspects you like about the person's website.
  • Specific aspects you think the person could improve on.
  • Constructive criticism that you feel will be helpful to them.
  • Some links to tips or training you think would be helpful to them when making a specific change.

An example of a good piece of general feedback is:

Hello Charles,

I really like your website a lot! I think your theme fits your topic perfectly. You provide a lot of great and educational information that will be helpful to many people. Your images are great and are relevant to the information you are providing. Great job and keep up the good work.

An example of a good piece of feedback that is specific to someone's content is:

Hello Bobby,

Great job on your website! I think you content is good you provide a lot of good and detailed information. One recommendation I have for you to make your content great is to include header's within your posts to separate each piece of information. This will also help your readers better understand when a transition in topics is occurring.

An example of a good piece of feedback that is specific to someone's layout of a page is:

Hello Charles,

You have done a really good job on your website! I think your page layout is pretty good, but a little confusing. I think a great way you could improve the layout of your page is to include some spaces in your information by adding some relevant images. This will also be helpful for your readers since they are not just looking at a lot of words they have pictures to help show them what your talking about.

An example of a good piece of feedback that is specific to someone's images is:

Hello Ian,

You have a good start here to a great website. You provide some good information that I feel people will enjoy and find educational. Your images really need some work though because they are very blurry and it's hard to see what they actually are. Some training here at Wealthy Affiliate that may help you with your images are How To Add And Insert An Image / Picture Into Your Page Or Posts and Why are my pictures not working correctly?.

An example of a good piece of feedback that is specific to someone's site design is:

Hello Becky,

You have a good start to your website, but it needs some work. Your design is a bit cluttered and I feel you should consider changing your menus and adding some submenus for each of your topics. This will help with the clutter look of your website and help so your visitors can find exactly what they are looking for.

I hope this is helpful to clear up any confusion anyone has been having between comments and feedback. I also hope that it is helpful to show everyone what is usually expected from both comments and feedback. So please everyone keep these tips in mind when you are providing comments and feedback to other people's websites.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Also the examples were excellent thanks again:)

Thank you so much for your time really helpful this answered all my questions, have a great day:)

Good information, thanks! Can anyone tell me, do the credits show up after the comment is approved? I'm just wondering when I will see the credits, and also if my comment is disapproved will I know that?

Yes to the first question on credits showing up. For disapproved comments, you'll see them when you go into the Site menu fromt he Dashboard on the left.

Thanks for bringing clarity to this issue that has affected many here at WA. Best wishes for your continued success!

Thank you for sharing. Great information.

Thank you for the clarification of both.comment and Feedback!

Now I learned from it.

Yes it boils down to tripe vs energized content!

Thank you so much. This should be required reading for all newbies before they are allowed to comment. That way they won't be barred from commenting because of lack of knowledge. Thanks again

Your very welcome and I am glad you like my post! :) I agree this should be required reading for all newbies before they are allowed to write comments. I also agree it would be a great way to prevent them from being barred from commenting because of lack of knowledge. Thank you for reading my post and for leaving a comment! :)

If you know how to get that information to the powers that be, that would be great. I was barred because I didn't know. I know now, my first 3 were bad and my last 7 were good, I was barred even though I had 7 straight good ones showing I had learned how to comment

COIMMENT: Way to go, Girlfriend

FEEDBACK Nicely presented

Thank you for reading my post and leaving a comment and some feedback Sunday, I really appreciate it! :)
