Hi guys, I thought it would be nice to update you on my progress in life. Yup, a lot has happened and a lot is going to happen very soon. Biggest announcement of allI told you in my previous post that I would have some meetings with the Dutch government, right? Well, the meetings went very well because they granted me the kind of financial aid that allows me to move to Cebu. Yes, you heard that right. I still get my financial aid while living in Cebu. So, what does this mean? I'm able to move to Cebu super fast now! If my plans work out, I'll be there by April 2015! Yay!I'll visit the Philippine embassy this Tuesday morning with my mom to have some questions answered.I called them last week and, I decided to select a different option from their menu. The person who answered my call this time was a lot friendlier. He offered to answer my questions over the phone, but I insisted on having them answered in a face to face meeting.Last week I made some phone calls to some companies that I have some sort of a contract with. Think about gas and electricity contracts or a health insurance policy. They all told me that I could terminate my contract with them prematurely without any problems. I'll clarify the word "problems" for you, I mean that I don't have to pay any cancelation fees or other fines. Pretty awesome! So, what stops you from going like tomorrow? That's a good question and, I'll answer it for you. I currently live in a rental apartment and it's called supervised living. This means that I have weekly meetings with a person who works for one of the health care organization called Lentis. This means that I have a contract with Lentis as well. Luckily for me, my supervisor would gladly terminate my contract with her prematurely as well. Then there's the prior notice issue. I have to give the housing organization one month's prior notice that I'll move out and everything. Connected to that, I need help from people to move all the furniture out of my apartment. So, as you can see, that requires some careful planning. Then there's the question of what day I can really go to Cebu and book my flight for that day.Another big announcement - I'm considering to cancel my membership with WAOmg, why do you say this? I know, this might be a shock to some of you. I love writing blog posts, but I have some future costs to take into account as well. In doing so, I realize that the $47 a month is just too much for me to pay. Also, I notice that as soon as the word "money" comes to mind that it adds mental pressure for me to write blog posts even when I don't feel inspired to do so.Paying $47 a year for my hosting seems much more realistic to me for the future. So, when you guys visit my profile page here and, you don't see any activity, you know why. I'll do some research as to which hosting company I'll transfer my website.Did you still write some blog posts despite all this?Yes, I sure did, but it took a lot more energy from me to frequently publish blog posts. Here's a list of blog posts I published since my last WA blog post:http://howtofindthecheapestflight.com/skyscanner-reviewhttp://howtofindthecheapestflight.com/expedia-reviewhttp://howtofindthecheapestflight.com/momondo-reviewhttp://howtofindthecheapestflight.com/why-you-should-look-for-cheap-flights-on-social-media-websiteshttp://howtofindthecheapestflight.com/kayak-website-reviewhttp://howtofindthecheapestflight.com/priceline-reviewWhen I look at this list of blog posts, it doesn't seem so bad haha!Anyway, as soon as I know the exact day I'll fly out to Cebu, I'll let you guys know. Enjoy your Sunday!
Sometimes in life, if you have to do it, you just have to do it, if cancelling yr membership can help to pay for yr other important basic needs, then that is the wise decision to make. :)
Take care, Muriel and I wish you all the best. ;)
It sure is an exciting time for me, Allyn! But, I'm glad that it's all happening fast now. I can't wait to get out of here and to be with my girlfriend again.
