Value of Jaaxy - Time to Adapt
Isn't it odd that when we have free access to something, we may not notice it until it is gone?
It's common for people to not fully appreciate things that are easily available. This happens because of how our minds work. We might not notice the good parts of something we use all the time. But when it's taken away, we suddenly see its value. This is true for many things in life, including the tools we use on the internet. Jaaxy was one such tool that helped people find the best words for their websites. If Jaaxy stops working well because of changes on the internet, people might realize how much they needed it.
I knew the limitations of Jaaxy. Keyword research was "specific" to what you typed into the search column. For example "Master Niche Blogging" is sourced differently from "Mastering Niche Blogging". This made little difference to me because I knew it. The site rankings were fun to watch, though rarely accurate.
I can run the same query, "Master Niche Blogging" in Jaaxy's Site Rank, and it will tell me that I do not exist on the first 20 pages of Google Results, #61 on Bing & #3 on Yahoo! The only one accurate was Yahoo! I am on the front page of all 3, usually right below my posts on Medium, or one of the YouTube shorts I created. I know that I am the centerpiece of the Master Niche Blogging results page. I encourage you to give me a hand and do a search. The search engines appreciate the workout.
Jaaxy always had its quirks. Like an old toy in the corner of the playroom, it was comforting to know that it was there when we did want to use it. Reminisce about better times. A lot of what Jaaxy does is already wrapped into the beautiful Hub we have now, I would simply ask that what isn't in the hub, be added there.
Jaaxy will be missed, oh and I will need to take down my Jaaxy Review (eventually). For site rank and Domain Authority (DA) MOZ has a couple of decent free tools for personal use.
MOZ Scores
My main connection to MOZ is the free SEO Tools. No, I will not sign up for their $99/month service. But I will watch my sites for free. Their site evaluation I feel is accurate. It tells me that I am ranking for 31 keywords. Unfortunately, several are Jaaxy-related. My review ranked well. I was always wondering about the Helpful Content Update hits. The MOZ SPAM score of 30% indicates that my site shares characteristics with websites that have been penalized or banned by Google, but at a level considered low for risk of spam.
Here's what this means in more detail:
Domain Authority (DA): This is a Moz proprietary metric from 1 to 100 that predicts how well a domain will rank in Google search results. It's based on various link metrics. I am a 4, but a page rank of 13.
Interpretation of 30% Spam Score:
A Spam Score between 1% and 30% is considered Low. This suggests that while the site might share some characteristics with penalized sites, the risk is relatively low. It doesn't mean the site is spammy, but rather that it exhibits a few features that are commonly associated with sites that have been penalized. I have one SPAM site that is linked to my website. Why it did I have no idea. My browser won't even let me get to it!
Implications
- Low Concern: A score in this range typically isn't a significant cause for concern unless other indicators suggest issues. It's a signal to perhaps review your backlinks or site structure but not an immediate alarm for action.
- SEO Strategy: This score can be used to assess the quality of your inbound links or to compare with competitors. It can guide you in deciding which links might need further investigation or removal, though it's not a direct reflection of Google's view since Google doesn't use this metric.
- Actionable Insights: Even with a low score, it's beneficial to look into the site's link profile, content quality, and other SEO practices to ensure they align with best practices for better SEO performance.
Remember, the Spam Score is just one metric among many in SEO analysis.
Jaaxy - Navigating the Future of SEO Without It
The journey with tools like Jaaxy teaches us a valuable lesson about adaptability in the ever-evolving landscape of SEO. When tools we rely on falter due to external shifts, like Google's algorithm updates, it's about finding a new tool.
Diversify Your Toolset: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Use a combination of tools from different providers to cross-check data. This can help mitigate the impact when one tool's data becomes unreliable. I use the free versions of all of these:
- MOZ
- Ubersuggest - (Everything Neil Patel does turns to gold)
- Ahrefs
Keep up with SEO news and updates from major search engines.

Learn Core SEO Principles: The Rules of SEO: Making Search Engines Love Your Site is a great starting point for learning SEO right here in our Hub Training. You should understand the basics of SEO beyond what tools can provide. Knowing how to interpret data, what constitutes quality content, and how to build a natural link profile are skills that transcend any single tool.
The Wealthy Affiliate community (our home) is where you can share experiences, ask questions, and learn from your peers. I have said it on a couple (or more occasions), the collective mind knows more than the one. We are all in this together.
A final note, irrespective of the specific niche we each focus on, we all share a common identity, we are bloggers. To excel in niche blogging, mastering your platform is essential.

Hey Don,
Very useful for now as I like Howard, think Carson and his team will come up with something very soon.

I believe that the best use is having it inside the hub. As a separate tool, few people were looking for it/using it. Just my opinion.

Hi Don,
Great info and i agree about Neil Patel, it seems everything he touches turns to gold. But he himself says what a lot of work he puts in to get it right.
Ans same as you i am trying to get my Domain Authority up. My next goal is to get over 25 on my health website.
