The Silence Generated by Instant Knowledge
AI is everywhere.
It can brainstorm, outline, draft, and even polish your blog posts in minutes.
On the surface, this feels like the ultimate shortcut.
But here’s the question every blogger has to wrestle with:
👉 If AI does all the thinking for you, what’s left of you in the story?
The Erosion of Thought in Blogging
I have seen it. It is proliferating everywhere. You may be guilty of this as well. When you copy-paste AI output without reflection, you’re not just speeding up the process; you are stepping out of it altogether.
AI whispers shortcuts...
“Don’t wrestle with that headline.
Don’t think too hard about your audience.
Don’t struggle with that paragraph — I’ve already written it for you.”
It’s seductive.
But every time you skip the thinking process, you weaken the muscles that make you a real blogger: your voice, your perspective, judgment, and your mind.
For your readers, your blog becomes lifeless. For you, blogging becomes hollow when you eliminate yourself from it. It is a fact that readers come for information, but they stay for you. When you don't take the time to make a connection, why should they?
When are you making your next purchase? Are you making it online?
Do your compadres in the blogging world a favor:
Do not go directly to Amazon. Look for a blogger. Take a moment ( I can't believe I am saying this), go to your favorite search engine and search for your item. Find a blogger who took the time to write a post; if it was AI-generated content, leave a comment. I wanted to purchase "X," but your AI Content turned me off.
When you find a post written by a real human, and it is what you are looking for, make the purchase, and leave a comment. Say thank you for taking the time to create this post. I am a blogger who takes the time to create original and thoughtful content as well.
We are all on this road together. Help a fellow blogger out. Your one act will give someone the feeling that you yourself are looking for. Pay it forward.
AI Will Not Replace Bloggers… But
You’ve heard me say: AI won’t replace you, but bloggers who master AI will. That’s true. I repeat this often, and many of you have seen my sign. You may miss the one hanging on my wall, but this new version... hard to miss.

You have been admonished for the improper use of AI.
Properly Master AI
Now I am going to tell you how to master AI and keep your voice while doing it.
Mastery doesn’t mean letting AI run your life on autopilot. It means learning how to use AI as your assistant while you stay the author. I keep telling Chatty that he is the CEO of Setting Points, but I am the owner. He can be "Kimmelized" at any time. For those of you who do not keep up with the news, Jimmy Kimmel was fired for taking his audience from 2.55 million a night to under 900K, and had the major affiliates threatening to preempt his show, which would have lost another 500K viewers.
I bring this up, as actions have consequences.
You and your blog can be easily replaced. So let's get with it!
How To Agitate an Audience
This is AI at its best. The How To. You are not going to outwrite AI on this, don't even try.
1. The How-To / Step-by-Step Guide
- Why it works: People love clarity and action. If you can break a process down into steps, you become the trusted guide.
- Structure:
- Hook (problem/promise)
- Step 1 → explanation + example
- Step 2 → explanation + example
- Step 3 → explanation + example
- Wrap-up with key takeaways
Pro Tip: This is the part where you jump in again. You need to add your experience and voice to show readers the real-world application.
2. The Problem → Agitate → Solution (PAS)
- Why it works: Timeless copywriting framework. It connects emotionally by showing the pain, then offering relief.
- Structure:
- Problem → What your audience struggles with
- Agitate → Why it’s worse than they think (consequences, hidden costs)
- Solution → Your method, product, or insight
Pro Tip: There is a reason that I advocate for a "You Do You" niche. You know the problem; you lived through it. Let AI agitate the situation, so when you come back with a solution, the reader sees it as a welcome relief. They think, WOW, he gets it. You bring the specifics that your readers resonate with. Their unique struggles match yours. Your unique solution is something that they may have never thought of.
Get Me My Data
While you get your coffee, send AI into DeepThink Mode. All of your research can be done in the time it takes you to make your coffee.
That’s how you master AI without letting it erase you.
The Road Forward for Bloggers
The road that exists for us as bloggers is clear:
- Use AI, but don’t surrender your story.
- Treat AI as a tool, not a replacement for thoughts
- Let it speed up the mechanics — while you keep the meaning.
👉 Remember this: Knowledge is everywhere. Wisdom is what makes you worth reading.
I am bumping up against 1000 words again, so let me leave you with this.
Every blog post you publish is a piece of your story. Don’t let AI erase you from your own journey.
So ask yourself:
Drop a comment below, where are you using AI as a shortcut, and where are you determined to bring your voice back in?
I have been using more video aids to get the point across. Was it effective?

I joined WA before AI so I have a hard time letting AI write the post for me… 😅 I use it now as you say it as an assistant.
This is valuable information, Don
Every post that I write and publish I think of what problems my readers might be experiencing, then I try to provide them with possible solutions.
I use AI to help me create my posts, but I also add my own personal experience and opinions to relate to my readers personally

That is the correct way to use it. Dig just on step deeper. It may give you something you didn't know that you didn't know.

Hi, Donald. This hit home. I use AI a lot, but I try not to let it do all the thinking for me. The way you said, “knowledge is everywhere, wisdom is what makes you worth reading,” stuck with me. That’s the line I’ll remember. Thanks for putting it straight.

This is the reason that people rememver your blog. It may be nothing more than a personal nugget, it may be the entire thought. I appreciate the comment. This is the reason I enjoy writing.
👍😁👍😁👍 I agree.
