Received this email "Cost to place an article on" my website. Can someone relate? Need adv
Last Updated: December 5, 2022
When I went to check if my last post was indexed on the google search console, it wasn't. I was very surprised, so I check on Bing, and it is indexed. I do not know how to fix
I usually click on validate fix straight away, without doing anything and it comes back as problem solved.
I do that with all google 'problems'.
I discovered it after the first few times of spending many hours trying to fix something that didn't need fixing. The next time I just clicked validate fix to give me some breathing space and lo and behold it came back as fixed despite doing nothing. I have done it ever since.
Hey Anne-Caroline,
Can you share the url please (a screenshot from GSC in reply to this comment is fine)?
The fact that the word "canonical" is mentioned may mean that the url may not need to be indexed, i.e. the url has (feed), (tag), or (category) at the END.
A "rel' canonical" is usually used in the (HTML) of an article to let Google know which article is the "main"/"original" article that should be indexed/ranked and receive backlinks.
Basically, you can have the same content (often called duplicate) on DIFFERENT urls.
The canonical is a way of saying, "This is the original and the one that should be ranked".
So, if you have your "tags" set to be indexed on your website (you can change these to "no index" in settings on All-in-One SEO), this could be why this is happening.
But I'll know better once I see the actual url.

Hey Anne-Caroline,
If you're in a hurry to get that post indexed... and, if you have a sitemap installed (which you should have, already) then submit your sitemap to Google through your Google Search Console.
See screen print below...
Hope you find this helpful.
Thank you. But I didn't know that sitemap.xml was outdated or invalid. I've always submitted. xml and never .index, when did that change?
I did my research and found out that I am submitting my sitemap right because I use all-in-one SEO and not YOAST. Yoast sitemap is _index.xml while AISEO is just sitemap.xml
Thank you for your help
As long as you've been submitting your sitemap, as that was the point of my comment.
Most users do not know how to submit a sitemap through their Google Search Console.
And I have replaced using the All-In-One SEO plugin, thus, I was unaware of that option having been added by the new developer of that plugin.
Personally, I prefer to submit my sitemap from Google Search Console so that I know it has been completed and done properly.

Hey all. Community dummy here. I’ve watched lessons 1, 2, and 3 about 8 times on one IPad while trying to implement the lesson on another. Head phones on to deter distractions. I don’t get the same content as being taught. No welcome to Wordpress, I have. 3rd plug-in for a Google kit that is not mentioned. Can’t locate the privacy page to add to my site. Maybe I jumped too soon in buying a domain and trying to use it for website building. At nearly 70 I have found this Wealthy Affiliate attempt to be the biggest mental and patience trying situation I have ever encountered. I have built cars, buildings, communication towers, houses, cabinets, treehouses, boats, Harleys and national relationships BUT cannot get a handle on building a website. What am I not understanding????
You get the Seo framework, Karken, and Site kit. Setting Your Website Up for Search Engines (Using The SEO Framework) Installing Google Analytics (GA4) & Search Console The privacy page is a page, so if you publish it from site content, you find it under Pages in your wordpress.
It would be helpful if you created a menu in appearance > menus, then added your privacy to it to show on your website. Creating Custom Menus & Navigation You may need to empty the browser cache, refresh and try again. Try the URL in a different browser or mobile device.
You can also empty the server's cache.

Hey Anne-Caroline (AC),
Here's Kyle's take on that: GDPR Compliance. Our Official Take. And... should you like to research for help one this topic, there are numerous tutorials offered regarding GDPR right here on the WA platform. See screen print below...
Do hope this helps you.
Not before getting a good understanding first. GDPR Compliance. Our Official Take. Its probably asking with out asking are you GDPR compliant? If your website targets european citizens or is shown to them. Wordpress just wants to make sure you are compliant to the EU nations laws. I say research before you just sign up for the cookie compliant they are offering you.
There could be better GDPR compliance plugins out there. :) but research and get a good understanding as to what the notice is actually refering to.
