Heads up on Monique dmca scam threatening $110,000 fine for images
Got this is a comment - no attempt to contact me via the provided email, and no reference to which images, the fact she wants me to download and click a link sort of says it all though so I'm not even going to check this one out. I'm pretty careful with images, but anyone who doesn't consider where they get their images from could well walk into this one. You can also see she's a bit over the top on my 'wilful infringement of her rights', and threats of legal action - if it were sincere my first step would be to show how insincere was her attempt to have any alleged photos removed and how dangerous it would have been for me to click links/downloads left in a comment...
Hi there!
My name is Monique.
Your website or a website that your company hosts is infringing on a copyright-protected images owned by me personally.
Check out this report with the hyperlinks to my images you utilized at functionalmedicinetraining.org and my previous publication to obtain the proof of my copyrights.
Download it now and check this out for yourself:
[big long link here which I am NOT going to click and download]In my opinion that you willfully infringed my rights under 17 U.S.C. Sec. 101 et seq. and could be liable for statutory damages as high as $110,000 as set-forth in Section 504 (c)(2) of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) therein.
This letter is official notice. I demand the elimination of the infringing materials described above. Take note as a service provider, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires you, to remove or/and terminate access to the copyrighted content upon receipt of this particular notification letter. In case you do not cease the utilization of the previously mentioned copyrighted content a legal action will be initiated against you.
I have a good self-belief that use of the copyrighted materials referenced above as allegedly violating is not approved by the copyright proprietor, its legal agent, as well as laws.
I swear, under consequence of perjury, that the information in this letter is accurate and that I am the legal copyright owner or am certified to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is presumably infringed.
Regards,
Monique Jackson

Yes that would have panicked me a little....thank you for the heads up, so so careful these days,
I nearly ignored the “copyright” sent from epidemic sound for one of my yt vids, (not the first) I knew I hadn't, so I thought heck this is a scam, but as it turns out they thought I had and had to deal with it.....👍
Thank you for taking the time to share 👍
A lot of evil people out there trying to scam and take advantage. I receive a lot of scam calls. Sometimes I pick up my phone, but I don't answer. I just continue with my business. No matter if I'm eating, in the bathroom, doing chores, vacuuming. Well, you get the picture. Hopefully, no one falls for these scams. Be safe out there. :)
they put so much work into it they may as well take a real job! yes this week a stranger 'rang me back' on my phone but I wasn't even in the room when 'I' made the call - someone was using my number in a scam to look legit!
You know, our job is hard enough without this kind of spam mail! I get all kinds of spam in my personal email, about 10 - 20 robocalls a day, and even snail mail that is clearly spam.
Thanks for the heads up, though!
Dave.
Damn that sucks, that's so annoying. Maybe you should start pranking them when they call you. LOL
geez that is a lot of invasion of privacy especially with the calls...the spam mail we can clean it up quite a bit by blocking and reporting but some still manages to get through...

Just months when I just got started online,I got such an email and really paniced, I ended up removing the whole article because I did not ever want to hear from such a person again.
But having been online long enough now, I know that most are scams will send such emails just to intimidate and scare you.
