how does your ranking work and what os the importance of it on WA? How do you get your ranking higher?

You get ranked because of your activity on the forum, in the chat, with blogs you write or tutorials you give, no more and no less. I do not know about any gifts which you suppose to get. It is just a ranking about activity. Not that you know so much or that you earn something from it.
Be active at WA. Help others, answer questions, write blogs, ask questions, send welcome messages to new members. Like comments that others do (if they like your comments your ranking will improve). Just be a part of the WA and your rankings will improve.
The benefits, as I see it, is that I'm learning too by helping others and other WA members wants to help me when I need help.
You get higher rankings when you help others by providing answers to their question and also when your activities here at wealth affiliate is frequent.For instance you blog and you send welcome messages out to new premium subscribers. The benefit is some gifts are given away

So the number they give you for rank is it the lower the number better than the higher the number?
Lower numbers indicate that you're more active in the community than those members with higher numbers. Kyle is ranked #1.
Your ranking is based on "points" in three areas - Helper, Creator, and Activity. Those are added up and compared against the points of all othe WA members. By clicking on the blue "Rank" icon, you can see your points in each of the three areas as well as the total. Below that, you'll see a list of the top 200 members in points.
