Hey Guys!
Just a quick question. I've been using Jaaxy a lot (obviously), and I've been curious about something that struck me as odd.

When you do your research, before picking up the keyword for good, just do a small search for both search terms in Google. That should give you an idea whether or not Google sees and rank the keywords equally relevant to people looking to decrease their appetite.
Most of times, adding "How To" before your targeted keyword won't change anything, because it's no more specific to a market. If you really want to have better chances, you would have to target a smaller market inside this one, i.e. How To Decrease Your Appetite ...When Pregnant... Naturally... For weight loss... Just throwing ideas.
For instance, when I look at "How To Decrease Your Appetite" most of the results are synonyms (reduce, cut, hunger, etc.). Because Google understand that they are all talking about reducing or decreasing appetite.
So, in your case, I wouldn't bother about the How To keyword. Instead take the results for the shorter one. I'd even go a little further and look at the data for the other related longtail keywords. You technically are going to compete against the sames players.
If I wanted to target that keyword, I'd go with what sounds the most natural and what I think would give me better CTR. Also, Include as much as synonyms and related search terms in your article.
Hope this helped.
Wow, this cleared up everything. Thank you so much! That's what I figured. I wish I knew this before hand. It was never mentioned in the training videos or anything. I made so many blogs revolving around "how to" keywords and now I feel like it was all for nothing! Haha. Damn...at least now I know. Thank you again.
Haha no prob. It's not always like that. In some cases it might have an impact. Just make sure to check on Google first.
First, we don't look at Traffic and SEO.
Monthly Searches and QSR are all you need.
Adding HOW TO should give you different results because there are many pages with those exact words.
Remember, Monthly Searches is the number of people actually searching for that phrase. So IT COULD be lower than the QSR.
QSR is the number of competing pages, per that Keyword.
So I guess I'm good to go then. I'm asking because I had a similar question before and I asked Kyle about it. I wrote a review on a mattress and I targeted the keyword "What's the best mattress for back pain" as opposed to "What is the best mattress for back pain" and it didn't make sense because my first option had an insane amount of monthly searches with a QSR under 100 while the other had the same amount of monthly searches with a much higher QSR.
After asking Kyle, he told me that they're basically the exact same keyword. "What is" and "What's" are the same, but then why are the QSR's completely different?
That's why I asked this question today. I'm super confused and I'm hearing different things!
That can be possible, though.
QSR can be higher than Monthly Searches, when comparing something like you've stated. What people type into the search engines gives you what they're looking for...
Well thanks for answering. It's just odd because I see two completely different keywords with the EXACT same amount of monthly searches but completely different QSR's. So I guess it's okay just as long as the competition is low? I noticed just by adding "How To" to a competitive keyword lowers the competition in most cases. But the average monthly searches stays the same for some reason.
By the way, your DIY website looks awesome! What theme did you use for that?
You're welcome!
Not all situations will give those results. I have helped many. I, myself, am one who has to type the "'s" because I'm crazy that way.
You're doing the right things...keep going!
Well thank you for the compliment. I was working on this all night.
I used MagNow.
Thank you. You're awesome! And did you get some other person to just do your videos or something? I'm thinking about filming videos instead of just blogs. And my website looks pretty plain right now. Could use a lot more colour. It's only been a month so far but I have no doubt it'll continue evolving! Your DIY website really looks fantastic and it seems like it's incredibly popular, especially on youtube!
Good for you! And thanks for all your help. I'm sure you've got other things to do :P
Don't we all have tons to do?! LOL!
Someone coded so data, videos, and feeds are automatic. It needs work but I'm determined to get there.
This is my fourth site and I didn't want to Blog anymore...lol! Fingers crossed...let's see how it works!
You're welcome!

It's definitely not for nothing Mike and now you can have more to write about. In the online world, you want to target the "long tailed", "low hanging fruit" keywords, which is what they referred to these as in the training. These will get you out of the broad and very competitive realm of things and ultimately get you more traffic. Sim explained it well, so go about your game plan with adding additional words to your keywords and you will find TONS of them. You're on the right track man!
Thanks a lot brother, I appreciate the comment. It makes a lot more sense now and it's not going to slow me down! I know mistakes is part of the process but I'm sure in 3 years or so, it'll all be worth it haha.
All the best man.
Glad you see the bigger picture man. You'll see results soon enough and by that 3 year mark, you'll be amazed at how much your business has grown. I'm coming up on my 3 year mark and I've exceeded all expectations. Can't wait to see you grow more and more!

Hey guys. I'm posting the same question in hopes that it will get answered this time, so here it is, copy and pasted:
Just a quick question regarding googleplus. This iss
I don't think you are making any mistakes. However, you might be looking at the wrong stats. If you are checking your ranking, I recommend you go incognito or clear your browser's history as it will bring up things you have been on recently and show them higher in the rankings.
I wouldn't even worry about where your posts are ranked just yet, as it's your overall site that gets ranked and indexed. Just add more content and those posts will eventually get ranked along with everything else. That's just how it goes.
Oh absolutely! It put my mind at ease and reminded me to look at the bigger picture down the road. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong and getting myself de-indexed or sometiing hahaha. Thanks again for responding. I appreciate it!
You're doing great man, just keep on keepin on. Not many people understand exactly how this whole online marketing thing works and I see that you are one of the few. Great job man!

Hey guys.
Just a quick question regarding googleplus. This issue has been happening with the last couple of posts.
Basically, I would normally write a post and rig
Thanks. I really hope I can get this explained because now I'm very discouraged to use googleplus out of fear, haha.
I think this is not what we call indexed. To do this you would go to Webmaster and Fetch as Google. It is your browser that was showing you your stuff. You can check incognito or from other computer to see the difference.
Why it disappears? Other people were complaining. There is something they see as spammy content in what you add the Gplus..
Thank you for your answer. I wasn't aware that I was being spammy. So does that mean I shouldn't post my blogs on googleplus? I write a post a day at least.
And I don't post my blogs in the communities on google plus. Just on my page. So I'm conflicted on what to do because I heard from this site that you SHOULD be posting your stuff on googleplus.
I can see my posts in my account, just not in google anymore. my old posts are all still there but the new ones are popping up, and then disappearing shortly after. I'm worried it's affecting my indexing with my content as well.
I was just guessing, do not know what you add and how. But I suggest ask Stefan, if I am not wrong he had some similar issue. Check in his questions, perhaps you find something, then contact him

Hey Guys. Just a quick question and hopefully a simple answer, haha.
I'm using the OMEGA theme and I'm just wondering how to increase the writing width of my posts and p
When you're on the edit page section, there should be an option to your right and there will be one called "landing page". That should do the trick.
You would need to put something in your widget area, which will fill that blank space to your right. Your theme doesn't support landing pages, so you dont' have that option. Add widgets though and that will fill that empty space.
