Hi Kyle! Got my Premium membership today! I'm very excited to move forward with this opportunity, and learn as much as I can! I'm going to really push myself this month because my intention is to upgrade to annual membership next month and give myself a year to really get my business up and running profitably. Is this a reasonable goal - a year to success?? Cheers, Marcie

Thanks, Carson. I think I'm starting to get my head around this after several conversations with Kyle, and just reading through the comments and blogs around the site. It's a bit overwhelming at first, but I think I'm finding my way. I intend to join Premium this week and, as I told Kyle, I'm going to work very hard for the first month to capitalize on that $19. Money is very tight for us, so I have to be mindful of that, but I'm feeling good about this!

Thanks for all that you and Kyle do in providing this opportunity!

Welcome to Premium Marcie, great to have you on board :)

There is certainly a lot of information out there and getting started can be overwhelming at best. This is why we created our 5 level set of courses and called the the "Certification" courses.

Course #1, the Getting Started course which is the GREEN button in your main menu, will get you up and running from square one. We assume that folks have ZERO background in building websites or marketing with this course, so it's great to follow along and complete the tasks.

Here's the link: I really want you to go to this course and work through the content. If you focus on one lesson at a time, and complete the 4-5 tasks each lesson has, you'll be building your business from ground zero.

So, at this point I want you to work on the getting started lessons. When you have questions, ask them within the lessons at the bottom and you'll get help nearly right away. You can also go into the live chat and ask for help there, or you can always send Kyle or myself a Private message and we will be more than happy to lend a hand.

I am in your corner and know that you can do this!

I look forward to staying in touch and answering your future questions :)

P.S. If you get a chance check out how the training helped me to build my website on sleep apnea. You can find the link on my profile page.

Hey Shawn - We just visited Ottawa earlier this week! We live in Barrie, on Lake Simcoe, and my husband had a meeting in Ottawa. We stayed at the Business Inn - wished we'd found it on our other trips there because we really enjoyed our stay! We were sad we'd only planned for one night away.

I've been contemplating WA ever since I first found it several months back - and finally felt I was up to the challenge so I came back a couple of days ago. Today I completed the training, but I'm discouraged because I feel SO lost. I tried a niche and created one website, but Kyle thinks my subject's too broad and encouraged me to figure out something else. I'm drawing a blank. I'm also trying to work my way around the site - but I can't seem to find anything I want to find. I couldn't even find the link to how the training helped you build your website on sleep apnea. BTW, are we supposed to be writing blog posts here as we go along? I feel like I'm the most boring person on the planet - drawing a complete blank on what I know about, how I could help anyone, or why anybody would be interested in anything I have to say!!

I'm also lost because a lot of stuff is closed to me til I'm a premium member. I do intend to join, at least for the first month on special, but I have 4 days:18 hrs:52 mins:45 secs to figure out whether I can actually make this work for me before I invest long term, and I'm getting nowhere. Thought maybe you might give a fellow Ontarian some guidance?? :)

Thanks
Marcie

Hi Marcie,
Glad you had a nice visit to our fair city. I've been to Barrie as well with my daughter when she played competitive basketball, but that was a few years ago. Have you decided on a niche yet? If Kyle thinks it's too broad, then go into Google and try different search variations and see what comes up. Perhaps from there you can narrow down your niche a bit further. I know how you feel about writing these blogs. I never considered myself to be a writer by any stretch, but if you follow some of mine you might get an idea of what you can write about. I look at other people's profiles to see what they write about as well to help give me ideas. A lot of the training I used came in the first 6 or so lessons. I must admit, I have a web developer certification background and I'm used to creating websites, but using wordpress is sooooo much easier. There is so much work done behind the scenes for you. For example, the niche I used is called the Iconic One theme. I really like it because it lays out the content and the navigation of the website very neatly and has a professional look to it. At least that's what a lot of people have told me.
I know what you mean about whether to join up to premium. I told myself that I would give this one year to see if I could make it work as I'm looking to retire within 12 - 18 months. So I upgraded to premium for one month and then I decided to join as an annual premium member. It means more of a cost to you initially, approx. $360 USD, but that factors into about $29/mth as opposed to the $47/month as a regular premium member.
For me, the niche I chose was a no brainer. I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea, my dad had it and I know many family and friends who also have it, and the list just seems to keep growing. I haven't made much money yet, but it's only been less than three months in, so I'm going to be patient. Remember, this is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme, they mention that right up front.
Let me know if this has helped answer any of your questions, I hope so. Always glad to help a fellow Ontarian out (unless your a Leafs fan, LOL!!!)
Regards,
Shawn

Hey Shawn

Nope, no Leafs fans here - at least not anymore LOL! Even our four year old granddaughter was rooting for Florida yesterday!

Good suggestion on the Google search - I'll try that. My idea was about genealogy "inspired" travel - you know, people who have been searching their ancestry and want to travel to different countries for either research or just to see where their ancestors came from. As I tried to write my "About Me" page, though, I felt like I really don't know enough about the subject myself . . . I guess I thought I'd try to provide a resource for people to get together and share info and ideas, and I could link to affiliate programs for travel agencies and family tree programs . . . but I don't know if I'm looking at this the right way. I was hoping I'd figure out what the focus is supposed to be by doing the training, but I felt like it sorta dropped off before really getting into the meat of it.

Anyway, I'm rambling . . . sorry. I will try your suggestion to narrow down my niche, but I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to be focusing on: something I know about, something I've experienced, a hobby, a subject that I can find lots of affiliate programs to link to, etc., etc. I was reading some info on another site that recommended you search Amazon for a product that is quite specific, and expensive, and create a site around it to promote it so you get commissions when someone buys through your site. But nothing in Kyle's training points to anything like that! I don't know - I guess I'm confused about what my end result is supposed to be. Other than somehow I'm supposed to make money doing this, I don't know what the goal of the website is supposed to be - info, entertainment, community, etc. So I'm stuck. Hope that makes sense. I'm trying to find where I can look at sites that others at WA have created, but I can't find that link either.

Thanks for listening again. I really want to do this - just feeling lost LOL

Cheers
Marcie

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle - I think I have settled on a niche, but wanted to run it by you. I am really into genealogy and while I was looking for a niche yesterday, I ran across the term "ancestral tourism" - people who, having discovered their "roots", are now interested in traveling to the places their ancestors lived. I didn't, however, find much information about the "trend", so I'm hoping it might be something that can be expanded upon. I already thought of a domain name "TravelMyPast" What do you think?

BTW, I came here about a year or so ago at a time in my life when things were pretty unsettled . . . didn't get this far, even, in the training - I just felt overwhelmed, but I knew this was the place to move forward with my dream of finding a place to learn, help, support and participate in a life that includes financial freedom! I'm back now to give it my all :) I'm so glad to be here!

That isn't such a bad idea, my only problem is that this could literally take you anywhere in the world. Ancestry is what this niche would end up becoming for you, because what happens is people would find out this information and then look to travel to these places through a different platform.

The two are not really connected in their searches, this could absolutely be a topic or two of discussion on a website, but it would not constitute an actual niche.

I would choose something else.
When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hi Kyle

OK, so I wanted to finish the training - and now that I have, I see what you mean. Unfortunately, I thought after finishing I'd have a better grasp of the "concept" so I could answer that question: "I want to help people that _____", but I'm still drawing a blank. Am I looking for a subject I know a lot about, a subject I've experienced myself (like a medical procedure), a hobby I have, a subject that would interface with a lot of affiliate opportunities, etc? I mean, I know about having a hip replacement, but who cares? I can't figure out what it is I have to offer. All I know is I want to build a legitimate online business that gives me something productive to do, enables me to achieve financial freedom, and eventually allows me to help others do the same. I'm not afraid to put in the time or the effort, but I can't seem to figure out what I know that's of interest to anybody else. I know how to be broke - that's about it! LOL!

So I was looking into the info about affiliate bootcamp, and saw mention of giving away free SiteRubix websites, etc. That sorta got my attention - I've designed some websites in the past for myself and friends and really enjoy it, but I'm still not seeing how the whole thing comes together to get the rankings. I had hoped I'd have a better understanding after the 1st level training, but I don't. I do intend to take advantage of the Premium upgrade before my trial expires, but I'm still trying to get a feel for what's here and how to get answers to my questions. The first month will be make it or break it because we are SERIOUSLY strapped for cash and I can't justify going on month after month unless I'm actually doing something with this that's going to earn an income. I've got to be able to capitalize on that first month to make this work. I DO BELIEVE it can be done - I'm just not sure where I fit yet. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Marcie

Why don't you move in the direction of "website building" then and help people within that space. There are literally millions of things you could discuss and that would tie in nicely with the affiliate bootcamp. And don't worry about being an expert at everything, you WORK to become and expert and it will happen with time.

I would head in that direction if that is something that you are going to be interested in. You can absolutely carve out yourself as an expert/authority in ANY space you choose over time.

Hi Kyle - Happy Sunday!

I think a light just went on for me! I was not really understanding the role of keywords, so my Jaxxy searches were meaningless (I only have 5 :( left), but all of a sudden I think I get it. Keywords that match the criteria set out in your training are to be inserted into the website pages and the blogging posts to attract the attention of search engines, to boost your ranking? Am I right, I hope? For some reason I thought I was looking for keywords that were different . . . I don't know, I was messed up! LOL. I hope I've got it right now.

In the meantime, I'm also starting to understand that I can set up a site and blog about just about anything I think I'd like to talk about - like you said, I can help people build websites, or I can talk about what I've learned as a Mom about how to schedule and organize your kids (something my daughter desperately needs to learn as the mom of a little one!). The only thing I'm not yet getting is how to monetize a site and/or blog once you get it into a good ranking position. I guess that comes with the next training segment. I'm going to join Premium this week - once our granddaughter is back at preschool and things get quiet enough here that I can focus. Want to really capitalize on my $19 and get this show on the road! SO appreciate your help and support!

Cheers :)

Exactly. Keywords are the premise of all of your content. Ideally you will be finding keywords with a lower competition (also known as QSR) because it means that you are going to be competition with less websites in Google when you go to create your content.

You want your keyword to meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be lower than 200 QSR initially, as you get more authority in search engines you can tackle more competitive search terms.
(2) Must get some traffic, I ideally aim for over 50 searches per month
(3) Must make grammatical sense

Once you have your keyword, you are going to create a page or a post on your website targeting that keyword. It should be within the following places in your content:

(1) Somewhere in the page/post title
(2) Somewhere within the first paragraph

And then write your content naturally and make sure it is engaging. People search "keywords" when they are looking for something so as you start getting ranked under these keywords, you are going to start to see traffic.

Once you have traffic...you have a ton of opportunity to generate revenue.

Hope this helps you out Marcie!

PS. I know you are going to love Premium and I really do look forward to working with you!
