I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Kyle - I think I have settled on a niche, but wanted to run it by you. I am really into genealogy and while I was looking for a niche yesterday, I ran across the term "ancestral tourism" - people who, having discovered their "roots", are now interested in traveling to the places their ancestors lived. I didn't, however, find much information about the "trend", so I'm hoping it might be something that can be expanded upon. I already thought of a domain name "TravelMyPast" What do you think?

BTW, I came here about a year or so ago at a time in my life when things were pretty unsettled . . . didn't get this far, even, in the training - I just felt overwhelmed, but I knew this was the place to move forward with my dream of finding a place to learn, help, support and participate in a life that includes financial freedom! I'm back now to give it my all :) I'm so glad to be here!

That isn't such a bad idea, my only problem is that this could literally take you anywhere in the world. Ancestry is what this niche would end up becoming for you, because what happens is people would find out this information and then look to travel to these places through a different platform.

The two are not really connected in their searches, this could absolutely be a topic or two of discussion on a website, but it would not constitute an actual niche.

I would choose something else.
When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hi Kyle

OK, so I wanted to finish the training - and now that I have, I see what you mean. Unfortunately, I thought after finishing I'd have a better grasp of the "concept" so I could answer that question: "I want to help people that _____", but I'm still drawing a blank. Am I looking for a subject I know a lot about, a subject I've experienced myself (like a medical procedure), a hobby I have, a subject that would interface with a lot of affiliate opportunities, etc? I mean, I know about having a hip replacement, but who cares? I can't figure out what it is I have to offer. All I know is I want to build a legitimate online business that gives me something productive to do, enables me to achieve financial freedom, and eventually allows me to help others do the same. I'm not afraid to put in the time or the effort, but I can't seem to figure out what I know that's of interest to anybody else. I know how to be broke - that's about it! LOL!

So I was looking into the info about affiliate bootcamp, and saw mention of giving away free SiteRubix websites, etc. That sorta got my attention - I've designed some websites in the past for myself and friends and really enjoy it, but I'm still not seeing how the whole thing comes together to get the rankings. I had hoped I'd have a better understanding after the 1st level training, but I don't. I do intend to take advantage of the Premium upgrade before my trial expires, but I'm still trying to get a feel for what's here and how to get answers to my questions. The first month will be make it or break it because we are SERIOUSLY strapped for cash and I can't justify going on month after month unless I'm actually doing something with this that's going to earn an income. I've got to be able to capitalize on that first month to make this work. I DO BELIEVE it can be done - I'm just not sure where I fit yet. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Marcie

Why don't you move in the direction of "website building" then and help people within that space. There are literally millions of things you could discuss and that would tie in nicely with the affiliate bootcamp. And don't worry about being an expert at everything, you WORK to become and expert and it will happen with time.

I would head in that direction if that is something that you are going to be interested in. You can absolutely carve out yourself as an expert/authority in ANY space you choose over time.

Hi Kyle - Happy Sunday!

I think a light just went on for me! I was not really understanding the role of keywords, so my Jaxxy searches were meaningless (I only have 5 :( left), but all of a sudden I think I get it. Keywords that match the criteria set out in your training are to be inserted into the website pages and the blogging posts to attract the attention of search engines, to boost your ranking? Am I right, I hope? For some reason I thought I was looking for keywords that were different . . . I don't know, I was messed up! LOL. I hope I've got it right now.

In the meantime, I'm also starting to understand that I can set up a site and blog about just about anything I think I'd like to talk about - like you said, I can help people build websites, or I can talk about what I've learned as a Mom about how to schedule and organize your kids (something my daughter desperately needs to learn as the mom of a little one!). The only thing I'm not yet getting is how to monetize a site and/or blog once you get it into a good ranking position. I guess that comes with the next training segment. I'm going to join Premium this week - once our granddaughter is back at preschool and things get quiet enough here that I can focus. Want to really capitalize on my $19 and get this show on the road! SO appreciate your help and support!

Cheers :)

Exactly. Keywords are the premise of all of your content. Ideally you will be finding keywords with a lower competition (also known as QSR) because it means that you are going to be competition with less websites in Google when you go to create your content.

You want your keyword to meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be lower than 200 QSR initially, as you get more authority in search engines you can tackle more competitive search terms.
(2) Must get some traffic, I ideally aim for over 50 searches per month
(3) Must make grammatical sense

Once you have your keyword, you are going to create a page or a post on your website targeting that keyword. It should be within the following places in your content:

(1) Somewhere in the page/post title
(2) Somewhere within the first paragraph

And then write your content naturally and make sure it is engaging. People search "keywords" when they are looking for something so as you start getting ranked under these keywords, you are going to start to see traffic.

Once you have traffic...you have a ton of opportunity to generate revenue.

Hope this helps you out Marcie!

PS. I know you are going to love Premium and I really do look forward to working with you!
