How Can I Rank Against the Big Blog Sites?
I know this question is often asked by bloggers starting out in internet marketing, so I just wanted to share this post today to highlight that it is possible and it happens all the time with blogs developed here at Wealthy Affiliate.
I was actually updating my own website post about Jaaxy and as an example of their site rank tool decided to add a couple of screenshots of posts (that I knew were doing OK).
So this is the screenshot used, but look at the two sites immediately below me.
This is a (fairly) big competitive industry and the two below me are the leading sites in this area, Moz and Neil Patel's (120,000 visitors a month and increasing) quick sprout.
My blog is definitely a lot smaller than either of these, so it is possible to rank highly even with heavyweight competitors. It is just a case of selecting the right keywords and creating the right content.
I know there are loads more stories from other members showing how they have outranked major sites and leaders in their industry, so don't lose heart and just go for it!

Whenever I want to outrank an authority website I sit down and think: "How could I write a piece of content that's better than theirs?"
That isn't the only thing needed but that question alone will give more of a chance to get a good ranking :)
Thanks Alex I agree do that as well, or another question is what's missing from this piece.
Sometimes there are some very good but complex posts and articles out there and the gap is a simplified version, which can be my post!
Thanks, I know others despair when they see the likes of Amazon dominating the top slots but it can be done and within a relatively short space of time (I did say relatively!)

Hi Paul consistency is definitely one aspect - but passion, belief in yourself and a dedicated interest in learning about your niche topic are all vital factors that are needed as well.
and you CAN do anything that you put your mind to - right
