Connect The Dots With Your Marketing

When you let all the pieces of your marketing just float around in space attached to nothing, not even each other, they inevitably get lost and worst yet, unrecognized.

There's work involved in the form of linking your marketing materials to each other. Most people spend 98% of their efforts creating their material (blog post, video, training, etc.) and 2% (if that) of their efforts linking them together.

There should be a flow to your work, a way of connecting the dots so to speak.

I find visibly writing down and visually being able to see, in an instant, where all my past marketing materials resides and what the topics are helps me to link them together more readily.

Believe me, when you really get going with marketing online you'll have literally dozens of pieces of marketing floating around everywhere and you'll forget you wrote 90% of what you did unless you have a visual, written list of almost everything.

The best marketers ingeniusly and seamlessly link their marketing materials together in a beneficial way to their readers or viewers.

For me, creating the materials has always been easy, it's been connecting them together that's always tripped me up in the past. As I began to get better at observing how the pros did things, I started getting better.

Depending on what kind of marketing material I'm creating that day will depend how long it will take. For example, if I write a normal blog post it may take an hour to write and optimize it for SEO.

AS I'M WRITING THE POST I WILL HAVE MY VISUAL AID OF ALL MY PAST CREATED MARKETING MATERIALS IN FRONT OF ME IN THE FORM OF TITLES AND WHERE THEY RESIDE SO I CAN REFRENCE AND LINK TO ANY OF THEM THAT ARE APPLICABLE TO MY CURRENT BLOG POST!

Connecting the dots may add an additional half hour to my session but it's part of the job, it's what we all signed on for.

This is that extra effort that many won't do. If howeve you DO it, it will stand to push you over the edge.

This is what makes the pros the pros. It's why they do it every time. It's not an option for them, it's a requirement!

Take a little extra time to get your materials connected and it WILL make a difference for you.
