The MYTH of Not Making Money When You See No Sales

Hi Everyone!

Reposting this post I had previously deleted.

So someone has been writing and posting content to their website for 3 months and promoting it in social media also, but they see no sales or commissions.

Does that really mean they have made no money???

NO!

Who's to say that next month or even next year, someone isn't going to click on that link and purchase?

That link to purchase would NOT have been possible without the work done in the first 3 months!

Maybe someone bookmarked your website and came back later to take a look and then purchase? Or maybe they found your website no longer exists?

You are laying your foundation for now and the FUTURE.

When people quit for lack of sales/earnings, they have no idea of the potential future sales/earnings that they are now walking away from.

I have been making money online since 1998. What if I said right away, "Oh I can not make money online. It's useless."?

I can not even estimate how much money that I have made in that timeframe. Hundreds of thousands of dollars easily and prior to "retiring" in 2014, it was all part time income as I ran a full time business offline.

I have published books many years ago and they are still selling today.

A little effort = continuing rewards.

Focus Long Term as much or more as you do Short term.

Hi Mel,

Thanks for this message... starting in March this year, I shifted my sight from chasing sales from my first website to putting more valuable content on my second one instead.

As I could benefit more from my second site in the long run as it has started getting a considerable amount of organic traffic, especially from Google.

And as you have suggested the goal is for the long term!

Thanks and Ingat Mel!

This is so true.

When I first started self publishing on most of it sales were few and far between.

Over time, they still sell despite not publishing anything in over 6 years. And occasionally someone will be enthralled enough to buy my entire catalog.

All of which was made possible by continuing on in those murky waters in the beginning and not throwing the towel in because the sales weren't there for the time I was putting in.

Words of Wisdom here Mel, thanks for sharing.

Regards,

Jason
