Self-Education Should Be a Life Long Experience

Hi Everyone,

For me, Self-Education now applies to absolutely everything as well as the caveat, I don't know what I don't know.

Its more important than anything I can think of.

It has to be the foundation of everything I do.

The richest person in the world today is Elon Musk at around $245 Billion dollars.

But even that amount of money can not protect one from ignorance and I am not intending to insult Mr Musk, but to make a point that we can never be satisfied with the knowledge that we have.

My heart goes out to Elon today as he figuratively lost a son, because he was deceived by people one used to be able to give some trust to. (Its in the news)

Its the #1 reason I am homeschooling Melissa Jeane. I TRUST NO ONE.

Its also a reason I have no intention of moving back to the USA anytime soon, if ever.

I also will never assume that I have found the absolute "truth" about whatever. Because again, we don't know, what we don't know and our view of the world could be biased because of a particular belief that perhaps later in life we realize was false.

Its kind of like when people believed the world was flat and even today some people still believe that!

I might try to write some fiction books along that theme and under a pseudonym as I am sure they could be controversial, the more nerves that are touched.

I certainly wish I could go back to simpler times, but wishing isn't going to make it happen either.

Stay strong, stay informed, keep learning and never give up!

Yes. Good to keep learning.
And never listen to one side of the story.

I was shocked to watch some videos where some people still think China is a city that is backwards and 3rd world. It is not.
It is wiser to get views of people who actually visited China. Or better still, visit the country and decide on their own.

Tim

Great points, Tim.

As large as China is a person is going to see many different "China's". Same as USA. It can be very different as you travel around the country.

Since I was in the military, I personally would never travel to China. Too risky.

I haven't had the pleasure of visiting Singapore.

Mel

Yes, Mel. Both countries are large and each part will be different. Still, it is hoped that people know and understand that China does have cities that are just as modern as many cities in the world. And of course, there are the quiet countryside that are charming in their own way. Just like the cities and farms in the USA.

Sorry to hear you can never travel to China. That is unfortunate. There is so much to see in China. Many wonders. Like the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park that inspired one of Avatar's landscapes.

Oh, any plans to visit Singapore?

Tim

Thanks for sharing Tim!

I think if I had 10,000 years I couldn't see everything there is to see and experience in this world Tim.

No plans. Even the Philippines with over 7000 islands that are each unique would take forever to explore.

Take care!

Mel

Oh yes. I admire the islands of Philippines. Hope to visit and enjoy the beauty and wonders there.

Hi Mel, yeah I agree with you here about self-education. Yes, I do wish for a simpler time, but that is not to be the case. I hope you're feeling better. Keep up with your writing. I am passionate about self-education. I learn by doing, and if I make a mistake, so be it, learn from it, and move on.

Thanks Brenda!

Mel

I believe self-education should be a lifelong process as long as we have breath, Mel.

But constant learning does not include being delusional and forsaking all rationale and common sense along the way.

Hi Mel

I agree that we should all strive to be “lifetime learners.” We can never know everything, so it’s important to strategically pick and choose how we will add to our knowledge.

Additionally, as Information gets updated, we may need to revisit what’s new. 😎

You're welcome, Mel. 😎

I just searched for the "Woke Mind Virus". It sounds like a justification to slide deeper into Decadence. Whereas some liberal thought is needed to keep society from stagnating, it must be balanced and moderated even with common sense, which seems lacking nowadays. :S

Just my $0.02, Mel.

Considering we don't have Jeff's Virtual Bucks anymore, I'll take your 2 cents, Jay. ;-)
