This Post might be more for the beginners, Or possibly some tips for veterans. At the same time, if you have something helpful to contribute, PLEASE reply in the comments below and help us.

I mainly wanted to list the ways of which I have succeeded with affiliate marketing and the mistakes I have made. I am no expert, but after 18 months of managing my sites I have finally began to receive a good amount of steady traffic and higher revenues. I still have a long way to go to reach my actual financial goals. But, with a steady average increase in traffic and revenues...as long as I keep doing what I am doing then my goals are reachable.

For starters, pick your design and a niche that you are passionate about. You need to be very interested and passionate about the topic because you are going to be eating, sleeping and dreaming about it from here on out.

You will be researching your topic more in depth so that you can provide helpful information to people who don't know as much as you do about it. You will be writing quality articles as often as possible.

If you can Post high quality articles every single day then do it. The best way to increase your traffic and get subscribers as well as a higher rank on google search engines is to post as much content as possible.

If every day is too much then Post 3 times a week.

1) Create a schedule with goals and follow them. For example, Monday, Wed. and Friday I write one article and Post per these days. Every single week you follow this.

2) Stay persistent and consistent....long and steady wins the race.

3) Plan to have one day a week that you focus on just promoting your website. We spend all this time writing and tweaking our sites, which is good because we have to, but no one is going to see it if we do not actively promote it. By this, I mean on social media, google + etc.

Google Rank

If you want massive amounts of traffic you have to rank high on Google search engines. This is a challenge these days because there are over 2 million other websites JUST LIKE YOURS, in your exact niche who are all trying to get ranked high like you. Ultimately you want to rank in the first 50 slots. There are 10 websites link results per page of google search. So, you want to be on the first 5 pages of results because most Users/Searchers never click past the 5th page.

Follow the WA training regarding SEO- Search Engine Optimization. This will be the key to your website success. The only way to rank high is if you have a good strategic SEO plan. I could say a lot more about this, but the best would be for you to go over the training several times if you need to because there is a lot.

Social Media Tips

I use social media the most. For every single Post that I put up on my websites, I share it with about 8-9 different media platforms. Its standard and I do this every time. What I am doing is getting my website links out on other major websites to become backlinks.

Google search results LOVE to see your sites backlinks across the net. The more you have out there the better. I share my articles on my own website Facebook page, Google+ page, StumbleUpon, Twitter, and many many more.

Regarding Facebook: Go in and locate other groups who are in your same exact niche topic. Join the groups and become active. Respond to other peoples Posts, write posts yourself and share your own articles within the group. **These are people who are already highly interested in your topic, so it is more likely that they will click your link and go to your website. However, do not over use or make it appear like you are SPAM. don't just Post your articles and leave and never respond to anyone. You have to be careful or else they will kick you out.

Subscribers

They always say that the money is in the list. This means that the more subscribers that you get from your website the better you will be. I understood this, but did not take it that serious because it is so slow going that Users sign up. However, recently I realized that if I went back through my email account and counted all of the new 'subscribers' to my particular site....I had a ton. This was very motivating. I now have a valid, legit list of many subscribers who are the most interested in my niche and website. What you do with the list, is of great importance.

You can email them about new articles, you can give them new product reviews and direct them to your Amazon Associates links so you can increase your commissions. They sky is the limit when you have a large list of audience who is highly attentive to what you are telling them. This list is priceless. Build it slowly and consistently.

Make sure you have a place on your site where people can sign up to subscribe. Put it in a location that is very visible. Go the extra mile and create a pop up box upon the User exiting your site asking them to subscribe. Do not be afraid to ask your Readers to subscribe. Give them many chances with various boxes and fields throughout your website.

Spend Money

Once your site is established for a few months and you have a good amount of articles posted, think about spending money to make money. By this I mean pay for some quality advertising of your site.

After 15 months, I finally decided to buck up and increase my traffic through paid ads. I chose Google Adwords because I could start with low cost and choose my daily budget. Plus with Adwords, you only pay when they deliver results. For example, if they send you a User to your site you then pay for that click over.

With Adwords, you create a simple text ad with your site name, etc. Make it appeasing. The ad then gets placed on the top of bottom of search engine results page that someone requests. its based on key words and phrases.

For example, I operate a helpful 4K TV informational site called "4kadvice". I used key words such as "What is a 4K TV", or "4K TV" on my adwords text, therefore any person searching about 4K TVs will see my bold ad at the top of their results page. I hope they click my ad and go to my site.

I had great results in the first 30 days I tried adwords and even better in the 2nd month. My traffic increased drastically as well as my revenues. I only spent $5 a day for a budget, but I might increase since this type of advertising is working well for me.

Make sure you choose your marketing and advertising campaign wisely. Do not spend money that isn't going to give you results. Research it first and ask around.

Another good way to increase traffic is by dong a Press Release. Look it up, there are companies who will set this up for you and do the release. However, it costs about $200. I have not don't this yet, but I plan to.

Patience

You will not succeed at affiliate marketing if you cant be patient. This takes a long time to earn a reward and make any decent income. It takes months of you working for free. You dedicating a lot of time and energy writing and researching various topics to post about. It takes months to be heard on social media. It takes the longest to get ranked higher on google.

Think about it. Google wants to deliver the best most relevant results to any person doing a search. They want to list the most established successful sites that exist. They do not want to list a site that is going out of business or that never posts new material.

Use SEO strategies and prove to Google that you mean business. Give them your sitemap and make sure you are registered with them from the beginning.

You CAN succeed at this business if you are more than determined. The success rate is very low. You don't even want to know. But, by knowing the challenges and what you are up against.....this alone can help you become determined to beat the odds and succeed.

I wont paint you a pretty picture. Nothing good happens fast in this business. Maybe 8-10 years ago you could become very successful MUCH FASTER at affiliate marketing because there was not many people doing it. It was a fairly new idea.

Today, there are millions upon millions of people all trying to do the same thing....make money with affiliate marketing. The competition is swift. You have to be creative enough to beat out thousands of other websites to get ranked higher if you want mass traffic. This takes months and years to accomplish.

Think of this business as a life-long endeavor, because it will take a decade before you finally see a substantial amount of passive income. But, it can and will happen if you stick with it.

You are starting a real start up business. A small business and entrepreneur you are. Take it serious. Unless this is a hobby or charity to you....follow the training, ask questions, learn all that you can about affiliate marketing and put the time and energy into your writings.

Deliver quality articles to your Readers. Research and learn about how to write quality articles if you are not confident in your writing skills. You can also hire people to write articles for you.

Ask other site owners to guest post for you if needed. You can write Posts on their websites and they can do the same for you. Get your website address linked over to your site from their website.

Every little bit counts in this business. It all adds up to increase your chances of traffic and revenues. If you have any questions, please use the WA network or send me a message.

Site Comments

Use the WA site comments section as often as possible. Comments on your site is considered content as far as google rank. You can implement strategic key words for your SEO within your reply comments. Take advantage of this. Comment on others sites and earn credits. Or, if time is short, do what I do and purchase WA credits so that you can request formal comments. Its modest cost and you gain valuable SEO opportunities within your reply comments. Not to mention, you are welcoming more traffic to your site and possible shares, despite the fact that they are other WA members.

Strive for comments on your site. Google rank bots love to see comments and backlinks within your site. It all helps.

Know that to be successful with your sites you cannot just focus on one tactic. You have to utilize ALL of them. As many as you can.

By this, I mean social media, comments, backlinks, advertising your site on places like AdWords, guest posting, building a subscription list so you can regularly reach out to your Readers, daily content posting, press releases, marketing your site on global blogs, and more.

Planning and using a scedule makes most sense. To systematically accomplish all of these tactics you will need to be organized with a schedule, task list and plan.

BE PATIENT. I repeat, patience is the most important trait you will need to succeed at this.

If you knew that a financial reward would eventually come to you basically guaranteed, but all you had to do was work for free for the first 2 or 3 years....would you still commit?

This is how I view my endeavor here. I am committed to working for free and putting my time and energy into my affiliate sites because I know that in 2 more years, I will have an established, steady passive income every month from there on out. And, a decent income at that.

I can write so much more about this topic and I will do more Posts in the future as I think of more helpful tips. I am also learning as I go. I LOVE this business, I LOVE marketing, I LOVE the internet, I LOVE the computer and I LOVE writing. So, this is a perfect match for me.

Most of all I LOVE working for myself and earning every bit of income that I deserve. No one is making money off of my hard work. To be your own boss is the best career life that anyone could choose. At least in my opinion.
