Without Provocation
So last night I was going through and thanking people in my network and acknowledging those that were thanking me for following them. I refreshed my page and lo,and behold I got a very subtle negative posts. It was blatantly subtle. I was confused and then angry. I wanted to copy and paste but I couldn't figure it out. So, I am writing our exchange verbatim.
His post:
Maybe you should transfer to Salinas where the Black community isn't doing so good. I hope I'm wrong!
My response:
I don't follow. Please explain. Where is Salinas and why would I want to transfer?
His post:
Salinas is near Monterey by the coast near Pebble Beach, world famous. I just continue to meet some of the worst Black People out here. I talk to some others I'm not ready to talk to. Pray for me. Thanks, good night.
My response:
Worst people do not have a certain color. I am offended by your comment. I do not know how to take it. Prejudice and ignorance is not my language. I see color but it doesn't matter. You are the first person I have encountered here with a negative vibe or blatant prejudice. I am sorry we blacks offend you. I would like to think I am me not because of my color but because my parents took the time to raise me to respect all people regardless of color. God first. So I will pray for you and hope that you remove hatred from your heart and love for all people will enter in. Thank you for your response. Regardless of how you feel about me; you can't stop me from loving you. I love you.
This was the end of our exchange. Dr. Crockett and the builder are awesome people and left such positive messages for me. I appreciate them.
Well, this was my first negative experience within this community. I hope no one else receives or delivers any response to anyone in such poor taste. I am of the human race. Black just happens to be my color and I am proud of my heritage.
Red, yellow black and white, we are all precious in His sight. I love you all.
Update:
I just received another comment from this guy and it states:
Just because you think Blacks aren't bad; doesn't mean browns are good. God bless you.
This is the end of his response. I did respond but I did not want to make this post any longer. I did invite him to read this post and all the beautiful responses.
I do appreciate all the support that you have shown towards me and WA, it is amazing.
Update:
He did apologize 2-26-17.
He said, " I apologize. I was just being shallow. God bless you.
Again, thank you all for your comments. I directed him here to see that WA has the color of success and that is what this platform is for; if you are motivated and allow others to help you.

In a large community such as this you will run across individuals that are not positive, for whatever reason. They are in a minority and not worth worrying about. Enjoy the positive ones.
It is bothering me. Well, it was. Now that I have posted about it I feel better. I was not hurt but disappointed. Thank you.
I know. I have been taught that from my youth. I will just be the best Marquette that I can be and if I change to another color tomorrow, you will know me because I will still be me. Thank you.

I am truly sorry this person wrote these things on your page. I have been in this community for many years and I have see some rude comments but I do not recall ever seeing any of this nature.
The man is clearly an embarrassment to us all. I am wondering if Kyle or Carson are aware of this and what they are doing about it if they are aware.
I assure you this is an isolated incident and it will be dealt with immediately. Please do not let one person deter you from your success.
I am always at your service,
San
Thank you. I feel the same way.
