Hey there!

I'm just here doing some keyword research and I stumbled acrossed a strategy that I want to share with you.

Sometimes its quite difficult to find keywords because of competition. There is a way that you can get around this.

Nope, I'm not sharing any keywords. Just the strategy because it won't work anyways since your keywords will be different than mine.

By utilizing synonyms, you can potentially find some really powerful hidden gems.

What Do I Mean?

Lets say you're in the fitness industry. Its pretty competitive.

Lets say you wanted to promote a weight loss product so you target the word 'weight loss'.

Now I challenge you to think outside the box. What are other words for 'weight loss'?

You can go with:

  • fat loss
  • weightloss
  • shred
  • tone muscles
  • see my muscles
  • lose weight in 'X' days
  • etc

Hope these make sense, I'm going off the top of my head and my mind is pretty worn out from my own research. Btw, I have NOT researched any of these terms so don't quote me.

Now lets say you were targeting a phrase like 'weight loss in 2018'. The suffix to this could be a number of things.

Lets look at the word 'in' for a minute. 'In' can be replaced with words like:

  • for
  • omitted altogether
  • the year
  • of
  • etc

You can pretty much do this with any word in your keyword. Things aren't going to fall in your lap.

It takes some work and thinking outside of the box on your part but when you find your gems, they are well worth it.

One more strategy you can use is rearranging words. For instance, lets say you're looking up weight loss pills.

That's pretty competitive I'd assum.

Try phrases like:

  • pills for weight loss
  • weigh loss tablets
  • tablets for weight loss
  • pills for fat loss
  • weight loss pills for fat loss
  • etc

Again, on research has gone into this but hopefully you see the point I'm getting at. Use synonyms to get you outside the box.

Hope this helps! If you have any questions, comments or anything you want to add to this, please feel free to share in the comments box below.

Have an awesome week! :)

Thanks Marlinda. I'm going to try some out right now. Jim

Makes total sense. Sometimes adding words to the beginning help too. Common ones tend to be the or best.

Good tips and love the repeated examples. Definitely should help members understand there are tons of variations of keywords. Like you say, you just need to look for them. Thanks for sharing Marlinda!

Smart using adjacent ideas and keywords Marlinda!
