3 Kinds of Google Featured Snippets
Hey there!
I hope that you are having a good holiday weekend! Make sure you do something nice for yourself even if its as small as getting your favorite milkshake. That's exactly what me and my hubby did, lol!
Anyways, I wanted to talk to you a little bit about Google Snippets. If you don't know what they are, they're the answer boxes that show up at the top of search results.
Getting your site to rank in these can bring you even more traffic than having the first spot in Google. So before we get into how to rank for this coveted spot, lets go over the types of Google snippets.
I also found out the other day that when search results show up, the text gets read which makes it even more convenient.
Types of Google Snippets
1) Paragraphs - as you probably figured out, these are paragraphs. They're usually the answer to a question or query for more information, help, or feedback on a subject, product, etc.
According to Moz, these makeup 63% of Google snippet results.
2) List - as the name suggests, this type is a list. It can be bulleted or numbered. Lists typically answer questions about 'best' or 'top' products, services, etc. in a specific area. Like the '10 best cat trees for large cats' or the '5 best construction companies in Charlotte, NC'.
According to Moz, these makeup 19% of Google snippet results.
3) Tables - tables can be comparison charts for queries on product comparisons. Maybe you want to compare the top three cat trees for large cats before making the decision which one you're going to buy.
According to Moz, these makeup 16% of Google snippet results.
Now that you know the types of Google snippets, look at the content on your website and think of ways that you can potentially attempt to rank your site for one of these. Maybe you have an awesome comparison table that you might use.
Write down a couple of ideas. I'm going to be walking through Google snippets and showing you how you can rank for them as well.
If you have any questions, comments or other feedback, please leave them in the comments box below. Let me know if you've been using these and how as well!
Talk to you next time :)

Great stuff, so how do you get the paragraphs listed? Are they anywhere special other than just snippets from you site?
Great introduction to Google snippets, Marlinda! Can't wait until you do your "how-to" snippet training!
