Finally, a breath of fresh air!
Yes, it's been hard to breath!
Its been at least a couple of weeks that the smoke from the BC Canada fires have been blowing into Washington State and the Pacific NW, creating the worst air quality here in the entire nation. Below is a satellite map showing the smoke filled Washington State, and surrounding areas.
As you can imagine it has a big effect on people with breathing difficulties, as well as our elderly folks here. It has been common to see people in the stores here wearing masks to help fight off the smoke issues.
Sunrise and sunset here looks great, typically orange red, but it shows how much smoke is filling the air across the state.
This picture was taken from the yard where I work. This has been the view daily for a couple of weeks. The background trees are but a half mile away. Coupled with the recent heat wave it has been a challenging situation for a lot of people.
Finally, A Breath Of Fresh Air
Last night the winds finally shifted to give us an off shore breeze a blow out the smoke and allow us some long needed fresh air.
Along with the rain that we receive last night and this morning, which was also well needed, we are finally getting back to normal. Temperatures today were in the low to mid 70's. Well below the high 80's and 90's we've been experiencing coupled with the smoke.
Here's hoping the BC fires get some rain and relief as well.
Have a great new upcoming week everyone!!! Build it big!!!

Glad you guys will be getting relief coming soon, the low 70s sound gorgeous. Enjoy the fresh air, Mark!
Happy to hear there is finally clearing of those gorgeous Washington skies! Even though I've been away from it for a while, it'll always be home. I hope this also means the fires in Canada will soon be under control.
