WordPress 4.5: Issues and Complaints
It seems like the update to WordPress is not without some new issues.
Often, when WordPress undergoes one of their major updates, some plugins and themes get left behind. It can take a few days for them to catch up. And some never do.
When the 4.4 update came some of my themes crashed. Most of them had a fix within a couple of days but one I had to replace. But I got a theme I liked even better so all was not lost.
If you backed up with WP Clone just before the update you can roll back to the previous version by using the same plugin to restore your site. Don't do this until you've created a new backup just in case...
Now the point of this blog:
List your issues and complaints about WordPress 4.5 so we can keep them all in the same place and hopefully find some solutions.
Please add your issues and solutions in the comments below.
Working together we can beat this.
As always, I'm here to help you.Updates
Some members are experiencing issues with inserting links. Any comments or suggestions? Here's a link to TanjaRita's issue with links https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/everything-wordpre...
Some themes, in particular Theme Forest, seem to be adversely affected. Catch Box also has a hiccup, see Marcus1978's comment below.

Following your advice, I made a backup of the sites first and then applied the update. However, I only did a cursory check. Every thing seemed ok... Now I'm a bit concerned, though and will give a more rigorous check soon.
I'm a bad Rosie....far behind in updates. Now that I read your post the other day and this one, I am happy to be 'behind'. Will be backing up everything per your excellent training and then giving it a go.
Hi Tanya. Can you give us a few more details so the community can try to help. Then I'll add your issue up the top.
Thanks for the heads up. Normally I see an update and just go for it. Now you have given me pause and reason to re-think my hastiness!
The minor security updates are usually fine. I just back up using Tools > Export for them. But when it's WordPress itself or themes or plugins then I do the full backup.
It can be a good idea to wait for a week to see how a major WP update shakes down.
I have found it best to wait a bit on these updates before jumping in! Perhaps till version 5.1!! LOL
Maybe not quite that long. Perhaps waiting until version 4.5.1 would be a good idea. Give them time to fix their mistakes.
