Try WordPress 5 Gutenberg Without Installing the Plugin
If you're hesitating about trying out the new WordPress editor here's some good news.
The official WordPress site has created an interactive app so you can try Gutenberg without installing it on your own website. Check it out for yourself at:
https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/
As many of you know, Gutenberg is the name for the new WordPress editor which is expected to be released with WordPress version 5 some time during the next few days, weeks or months. There's no official launch date at this stage.
For the first time in over 15 years, the release of this WordPress update is not tied to a time schedule, it's not going to be released until the bugs are fixed.
While Gutenberg is still in development there's a plugin you can install on your website or use the app on the link above.
I've been using Gutenberg for a few months now and I love it so much that I've created some training videos for my Wealthy Affiliate friends as well as creating a course at Udemy.com
If you're ready to give Gutenberg a try, check out these training videos:

Hi Marion, I've been using Elementor as a page builder but from just playing around with the link that you gave us I can see that I'll be able to accomplish what I am used to doing straight from the WordPress editor. I like this.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Brian
Hi Brian
Thank you for this comment! ;-) I am not happy with my Theme and have been looking at Elementor, but have not decided yet.
Have a lovely day!

Hi Sharlee, I have had success with Elementor. There's a lot you can do with it and it's not a very steep learning curve. That being said, I have had some very good assistance along the way.
There's a Dutch gentleman by the name of Ferdy Korpershoek who is an Elementor boffin. Here is a link to his YouTube channel with a bunch of tutorials - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZpkfpfGe2ZC3AIQ69ERCJw
I'm sure you're going to find this very useful if you want to start using it. My theme is OceanWP which he also covers. This can be integrated with Elementor and the marriage is a blissful one.
P.S. You must tell Brad how to share eTreats so that he can send you some of his Nutella Delight. :D
Keep well.
Brian
Hi Brian
AWESOME info - thank you! Thanks for the info you PM'ed as well! A bucket of your favorite e-IceCream, complete with sprinkles and caramel dip, is on its way! ;-)
Oh Brad - he shared more than just eTreats - he shared the RECIPE! ;-) LOL!
Wishing you much success, Brian!

Thank you so very much, Marion, for all the time you spent doing the Gutenberg tutorials for us. Just awesome. I've downloaded everything & now I'm just starting to play them back. Like with all your videos, they're so easy to follow.
This is good to know! I saw the reminders on my WP dashboard about Gutenberg but was not ready to install any plugins at this time. Will definitely check out the link you posted.
Hi Marion and
I did take a quick look at it, and also at a couple of your videos. I understand that they force Gutenberg on my site, but give me the option to disable it and download the old editor as plugin.
Just wonder how this affects existing posts and what happens to the useful TinyMCE settings (like 'Stop removing the
tags when saving)
John
The only hiccup I've found with converting an existing post to Gutenberg is that it stripped out my anchor text. Anchor Text, Jump Link, Link to Content on the Same Page, FAQ Links I had to put them back in using Custom HTML blocks.
I only use anchors on long posts and there's no need to convert any posts which don't need editing. Hopefully, they'll fix this bug before the editor is released into the wild.
Gonna use a Free site to try this out following your videos, Also copy one post first to see what this GB does, especially with my Theme related stuff, like columns and changes to css, which are made possible in a theme specific theme options tab. My theme allows to display the sidebar, or not, on individual page/post, which is another of my concerns. Cross your fingers

It does depend on the theme. I noticed that a lot of themes updated the same day as WordPress version 4.9.8 was released.
Thanks, I will see if I have time, I have a holiday but my days are filled with offline requests;)

Hi Marion,
Thank you! I am going to do this as soon as I finish writing my review.
Very cool that I don't have to install the plugin... I can try it out first without it.
PS: By the way, I have been meaning to say this a while back... I absolutely love your picture of you. You are beautiful!!
