Birthday Bomb!
Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday - I am blown away by how many people sent me messages and there is just no way for me to reply to every single one!
So much for keeping it quiet with Lauren writing me a Happy Birthday post!
What an amazing weekend and birthday I had. This is the first time I have had my birthday fall on the Easter weekend, well as far as I can remember anyway.
My older sister was born on Easter Sunday and last year my younger sister had her birthday on Easter Sunday - yes we are all born in April 2 years and one week apart!
This Easter weekend was packed full of activities! On Saturday we went to the Aquarium in Cape Town so my kids could see the sharks and all the sealife. I just love seeing things through their eyes!
Then we did some activities with the Easter bunny and got some facepainting done before heading off for some lunch. The facepainting was stunning!
On Sunday morning my father in law came over for breakfast and afterwards the Easter egg hunt was ON! And oh my word did the the competitiveness come out of these two to try and get the most eggs.
In the afternoon my parents arrived from their 350km trip to get to us and brought me the best birthday gifts EVER - they gave me my mom's car which she hardly every drives anymore. My old car is close to hitting 300 000km and I don't travel far anymore because I was worried about the car packing in on the open road or adding unnecessary kms to the car.
Now I have a car with only 20 000km on the clock! Happiness is!
We all went out to dinner and in the morning of my birthday my parents left and took my kids to spend some time on the farm for the school holidays. What a treat. I love my kids but oh my word are they labor intensive!
Then my father in law and husband took me out to dinner again last night to finish off my birthday celebrations.
It is always important for me to remember to be grateful and remember where I was 10 years ago.
I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. 10 years ago on my birthday I probably spent most of my birthday celebrations humiliating myself... lying in my own vomit.
Today I am with my family and loved ones. I am able to support myself and my children and I can look myself in the eye.
Have a great week peeps!

Wow Lynne, you are amazing, so upfront and honest and special people are born on 2nd April.... I share the same day as you too!
When happy things and events are as dense, or crowded like these, a person sure deserves it.God and universe are providing with no measure. Congratulations!
And what an interesting story of births in your family- all around Easter. Also symbolic...:)
