Bipolar slump and a bit of burnout

Last Update: January 06, 2016

Oh dear, so I nearly made it!!

Yes I am talking about the school holidays. I was attempting to keep up the pace of a new post every week day even though my kids are home with me. (Alone because hubby has no leave)

To do this I have waited until everyone is in bed, including my hubby! This means since 15 December I have been working from 10pm - 2am every day....

They go back to playschool on Monday and I have now had enough, I can't keep it up.

Now even my manic bipolar can't keep me going. I suppose I have to admit when I am beat and just run with it! Oh well, that's it from me until Monday!

Catch up with you all then!

Yes, that is what I am doing...ugh!!, another site in the red today, but, I am still alive, no closer to my goal. I need a fixed goal for writing posts...

You need to put your laptop away and rest. I did that for nearly a week. I did nothing on my websites and I came back refreshed and rejuvenated and what a difference it made!

That is big, but, People need to not to be afraid to do this.. okay, I am going to test it out. I will let you know when I get back..!! :) Hug!!

I highly recommend it. I promise you if I had tried to plod along I would have gotten a little bit of work done yes... and not very productive type of work. Instead I came back full of bounce and ideas, ready to take on anything.

My website has turned a corner since I started work this Monday gone by and I do believe it is because I took that time off to recuperate!

Research B12 it might stabilize your Bipolar condition. Just a suggestion.

Oh yes, I have regular vitamin B12 injections. I love it, I can feel the difference almost immediately.

Well being an addict, an alcoholic and having bipolar... I have a brilliant team: a GP, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a counsellor, a sponsor and to top it all off my MOM.

I think between all of them I got it right!

Don't beat yourself up about it, you did really well. You can't keep that up forever. Be proud of what you have achieved and put it behind you and move forward.

If you were up 10pm-2 am everyday working on your site, it is no wonder you are beat. Don't be hard on yourself. I had a very difficult time putting in the time for my site too; just a few extra activities for the holidays made me extra tired and slow.

I know what you mean Mary!

I am so pleased this week my kids could go back to playschool. I rested mostly on Monday, worked yesterday and this morning and taking a it easy this afternoon :) Hope you are also getting your energy back now.

Glad you are getting back into the flow of a more normal schedule. I am too. Keeping to a normal schedule ( whatever that is, lol) every day really helps me get more done.

Yes it feels great and also being to just work and not try multi task like a maniac!

There's only so much one human can do. Try not to be hard on yourself.

Thanks Marcus, that is a good point. I am always very hard on myself.

Try and enjoy the break. I didn't get much done at all over the holidays and it was stressing me out. I don't do half the posts you do and I feel burnt out often. See you back soon!
Reply
LynneHuy Premium
Yes I know the feeling, I hate it when I can't get much done. It really gets to me!

PS Yeah I'm back!

Katie is absolutely right. Your body-including your brain- is telling you something. Throttle back a bit. No rats chasing you.
You are doing well and your writing is very good. The training on feedback was excellent. Be nice to yourself. You deserve it....Dick

This is about pacing yourself and enjoying the journey, I have to admit over the holidays I did not get much done with family visits etc, have a rest and come back to it

Hi Lynne,

It looks like you're making great strides, so don't be too hard on yourself. You've already accomplished more than many do.

Breaks are necessary on occasion.

Every day is a fresh start and a new opportunity.

Cheers.

Reply

Yeah I know, if I carry on another day I can feel that I will burn out so I have decided to take the last few days and relax a bit. Maybe just chat a bit and mess around, but no posts... can't do it!
