Conned by an online shop?
It happens more and more often that you order something on the internet and that after you have paid, you don't receive your product.
How can you prevent that?
- Take a look at the domain age
- Is the address existing?
- Can you phone them? Do this with every purchase above $50
- Is there a privacy policy/ terms of service?
- Pay with your credit card
Why the age of a domain?
Shop owners who want to con you, often create one-day-fly webshops, one minute they are there, the next minute they are gone. (With your money)
New webshops look like this
History checker domain names
Also interesting is to check a domain name for its history before you purchase one, because your "new" to buy domain name can be an expired one with a past. Blocked/Sandboxed/Reported etc.

HI loes I try not to purchase anything on line unless there is a Paypal button.Learnt the hard way.Greetings from out little rock.
This type of thing is rampant on the Internet. Unfortunately, this doesn't do affiliates any good as it puts people off from trusting us.
Thanks for the post, Loes...
I know...That's what I normally do as I've heard one too many stories which put me off. I still get stuff from individuals, but not expensive items in the eventuality it's a scam. So far I have been lucky.
I do buy a lot of 2nd hands, but always in the neighborhood, so I can drive over to check, collect and pay cash

Thanx for this Loes. Just checked, and my site doesn't have a past. Phew!

Mine has a past, the domain name was active in 2004-2006, but luckily no Sandbox:))
