Advantages Affiliate Marketing Advertisers and Marketers
For many companies, affiliate marketing has become an indispensable part of the marketing. In this article, I'll explain what the pros are for the company and the affiliate marketer.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a form of online marketing involving 3 or 4 parties:
- the company (always)
- the affiliate marketer (always)
- The customer (always)
- an network (TradeDoubler, CJ or Tradedoubler; not always).
As a company, you divide a part of the sales to the affiliate partner that delivered the generated sales or leads. The affiliate partner is leading the visitor to the website of the company, the affiliate partner can often make use of available promotional material. Promotional material includes banners, text links, and product feeds.
Advantages Affiliate Marketing Advertisers
Why should you start an affiliate marketing program as a company?
I have a number of benefits to you.
No cure no pay
The main advantage of affiliate marketing is the no cure no pay system. You can choose to advertise on relevant websites, but often the ad fees are relatively high, so the costs do not weight up to the benefits. In contrast to affiliate marketing, you only will pay when a conversion has actually taken place. In addition, you have a hand in how much the publisher/affiliate marketer receives. You determine the fee in advance. In most cases, it is based on a pay per sale. You pay a percentage of the sales to the affiliate marketer. Another options are:
- Pay per click, that means you pay a fixed amount per click, usually a few cents.
- Pay per lead, some compensation for taking action, such as filling out a form.
Quick new customers
Partnering up with affiliate marketers, you advertise across multiple websites at once, enabling you to reach a wide audience with potential new customers. And also important, you reach a relevant audience on those niche related websites. You have to decide which advertisers you allow to run your promotional material. When you manage this correct, your promotional material will only be visible on websites that actually reach your potential customers.
Little effort
Compared with other online marketing channels, affiliate marketing is a channel that generally requires little effort. Although you can start an affiliate program yourself, it saves you a lot of work when you connect your company with an affiliate network. An affiliate network does already have a large number of affiliate marketers registered who can start a campaign for you right away. The affiliate network provides you with the necessary measurement techniques too. Finally, in many cases, you get personal support through the affiliate network. The efforts you still have to do is to develop promotional materials and manage your affiliate partners. Affiliate marketing is effective in bringing quickly new customers to your website with little effort
The Efforts of the Affiliate Marketer
As an affiliate marketer you are going to promote products or services for one or more companies. So, good and valuable content is most important to attract visitors to your website and make profit. And therefore, it's your task to provide the best content ever on the Internet.
WHAT IS EVERGREEN CONTENT AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
If you are active in online marketing, you may have ever heard of evergreen content. What is evergreen content and why is it important to have this content on your website.
Evergreen content is content that remains relevant and valuable to your visitors after it is published. You may think: but content is always available on the website?
To explain what I mean by this, I will give you some examples of NOT evergreen content:
- News Articles
- Statistics that may change over time
- Articles about a specific time period or event
- Articles about a particular trend
- Latest clothing and fashion trends
Evergreen content has no expiration date and is therefore valuable for your website in the longer term. For example, information about the elections currently in the United States is not evergreen content. This content will be irrelevant within a few months and associated keywords will be in Google's cemetery.
Here are a few examples of article formats that provide evergreen content:
- Lists
- Valuable tips
- How-to articles
- Encyclopedia articles
- Videos
- Product reviews (yes and no)
Some product reviews can be evergreen, at least for a long time, like food supplements or fishing gear. But you have to understand the speed of the market. Tablets, mobile phones and furniture often get replaced with newer more modern variations. In that case, your review will not stay evergreen.
Videos are effective if you want to illustrate something. If a video is not an option, you can also use some images to clarify your explanation.
Of course, it's important that your evergreen content topics are relevant within your field of work. For example, if you sell office supplies, you can write about "How to clean up your desk" or about "Are sit-stand workstations healthy?"
Added value by evergreen content
It is important to give a unique insight about the subject, provide more depth or provide additional information. If you are active in a particular niche you will notice which content is less available or even missing. This is your chance to make your evergreen content valuable.
A good, and probably the best example of a website that scores with evergreen content is Wikipedia. Wikipedia scores for almost half of all Google searches on the first page!
Tips for writing evergreen content
- Do not write for experts: Sometimes you write an article and want to show you that you are an expert in a particular field. However, this can be a big mistake. Experts are not looking for info which means that the majority of your audience are beginners. You want to write content that is suitable for beginners.
- Don't use technical language: As you are writing content for beginners, it is not good to use complicated and technical language. This can drive visitors away.
- Write about a specific topic: If you write about a wide subject, you can lose the attention and interest of your visitors. Broad subjects are often focused on broad searches, and that will make it harder to achieve a good position. Write about specific topics like "how do you organize your desk" instead of "how do you keep the whole office organized".
- Link articles to each other: If you want to write a complete guide on a particular topic, such as how to keep the whole office organized, don't write about all topics in one blog with the name "How to keep the office organized" but spread the subject in different topics like "How do you organize your desk" and "How do you schedule your office day" and "How do you clean ink spots" Then link these articles to each other. You can use a custom link gallery (plugin) or text links. This is good for SEO and gives your readers information about a specific subject while providing them with additional relevant articles."

Thank you Loes :)
I took notes.
I like 'quick new customers' and will figure how to apply this!
I also love evergreen content.
My niche and all of the content so far will always be evergreen! I don't blog about broad content, I blog about each different style in detail with many images added. Because there is limited information for each style the images help. I can't have 1000 words without dragging it out causing it to be boring, I get right to the point.
Thank you for this it made my day :)
Glad you liked it so much Patsy:)
