UPs and DOWNs ... Ask Questions! Who Cares? I Care As Do Many Others
I came into this community with high hopes. I recognized within days that I had found a vibrant resource for learning to create a online source of income. Its why in the first week I jumped right into Premium...I had to have my own dot com.
Now as I complete my second level training I feel that a lot has been accomplished in just one month's time. I had no idea that I would already have a website up and running. Of course there is still so much to learn and I look forward to my lessons and seeing progress. My hopes are still high! My site is: specialneedsadvocatepower.com and is part of my learning curve too.
One thing I am working on is my attitude! Learning to let go and let others help has always been a little hard for me. I come from a mindset that it is my responsibility to work hard, do the homework, a 'keep your nose to the grindstone' mindset. I have gotten really badly stuck three distinct times. I didn't ask for help and spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong. When I finally asked for help the recommendations worked. What in the world was I thinking....I could be well into or almost through the Level 3 Certification Course. Well then, lesson learned. I will ask questions when I get stuck.
It's not a burden to ask for help. It's not being a pest. Its working smart inside of this community that believes we all can succeed. My mindset has been to do the work myself and figure it out. But that is NOT what Kyle and Carson and so many others are saying. And everyone has been saying from day one, ask questions!
Now what I want to accomplish is to get some more posts written for my site, learn how to categorize things so its easier for things to be found, to enter a couple of reviews, like for the book all parents of special needs kids should be reading, and seeing if some traffic will come my way.
Within the next three months I'd love to see my site totally finished and a few dollars start to hit the pocket book. I'd like to start the Affiliate Bootcamp and have two sites up and running to create a second potential income stream. And in six months, I'd like to see some 'authority' recognition. That would be great. Then at that 6 month juncture, in July 2014, I'd really like to have some money to take my granddaughter on a train ride and the children to the beach.
I'm VERY excited. And very grateful that after feeling scammed and then finding "One More Cup of Coffee" and Nathaniel's reviews I could embrace the potential opened up by following the WA way. Staying true to the spirit of 'paying it forward' honors values and beliefs that I cherish. Following the WA way...that should be a song, don't you think!

I am so glad that you are getting so much accomplished and learning a lot with the training. one of the best features of the premium feature is all the great support from the community. Everyone is here to learn and you should never hesitate to ask questions! I can almost guarantee that if someone in the past and someone in the future will probably have the same question you do =). Many people are glad to help because we all want each other to succeed! keep up the good work
Jean
I couldn't agree with you more. I too came in through Nathaniel's One More Cup of Coffee site ;)
Great post. I am very similar, somewhat proud and stubborn and tend to struggle on more often than not before I will ask, and the truth is I could really do with some help along the way particularly on the programming side. I will get there though.
Your attitude is spot on. Don't expect to much too soon but keep going and as you continue, 'hope' will be replaced with more confidence and belief which in turn helps you through the more difficult parts when things are not quite working out as you expected. And keep asking those questions, it's a timely reminder for people such as myself to do the same.
Maybe we are cut from the same cloth. "-) Thanks for the reference to 'hope' and its progression into creating confidence and belief. I totally BELIEVE you are going to get there. All who care enough to do the work and learn the lessons will!!!
Linda, I am of the same mindset with one exception. If I can't figure something out after one or two tries, I ALWAYS ask a question. For me it's like baseball. Can't figure it out the first time - Strike 1. Can't figure it out the second time - Strike 2. Ask the question and get an answer - No Strike 3 but a base hit or home run instead. :)
There is never a stupid question to ask. The only stupid question is the one that is never asked in the first place.
Hi Linda. Glad to hear that you're making progress. I'm a bit like you - always reluctant to ask for help. Actually I'm probably a lot worse than you and it's been quite costly to me. So I always advise people to just ask away. Thanks for sharing your journey so far. :) Beverley
Hello Beverley. So we share a lot in common '-) That is a very nice heart connection so thank you for sharing with me. It is significant that more than little ole' me can get into this 'head space' and so it is wonderful to have you say "just ask away".

Linda I love this! I am the same way. Hate to ask for help at first. I do now, after trying diligently to figure it out on my own first. I pray that you succeed here at WA and are able to take grand baby on a train ride and the children to the beach!
Thank you my new friend. While I wrote this some time ago it is essentially true and applicable. but that you have found time to read it reminds me that I could do a bit of an update to it. Like for instance the website needs to be changed because my next post, the one about Back Pedaling, is about learning that dashes in my domain name is not as productive. So the website name changed along with my learning curve.
Thanks for dropping by and reading a bit in my WA blog roll. Can't wait to see what else you are going to create as we both learn and grow here.
Linda
