Lurn vs Wealthy Affiliate
I joined WA on Black Friday. Since then my in box always has posts from friends I have followed. I’m very anxious to start a business and got hung up on which niche I wanted to use, since my next lesson was building a website about it. I thought about it for about 4 days.
In the mean time I came across Anik from Lurn and a webinar that he was having where I (according his sale pitch) would have one of his many coaches, including HIMSELF, supporting me every step of the way and how in 8 short weeks will have my business up and running. They would show me step by step so I couldn’t lose. I got caught up with how good a salesman can be and forked over $997. I know, dumb, dumb, dumb. I just wanted someone to show me actually how and be in business in 2 months! Sounded like a dream. Turns out it was!
I know WA has tons of support, but as many people have pointed out, it’s a long process and from what I understand, it could take up to a year to start making money with determination. I’m probably like most, I want it now!
So Anik says I only get support for 8 weeks so I thought I would do that first and then go back to WA because I have a year that I paid for already. The first few steps I breezed through. I made a domain, a business e-mail address, and a logo! Then I get to the next step and it’s foreign to me. I don’t know what they are talking about so I try to reach out to all “the support” I have. No live chat, can’t get on their Facebook page since I’m not on week 4 (that was never said), all I could do is send an e-mail asking for help. I exclaimed all this through my e-mail In the mean time I see that one of the classes I got as a “bonus” I could not access and it wanted me to pay an additional $297 for it! SO I did get an e-mail with the attachment that was missing and nothing else!!! No mention of getting the support I needed. Not one word!!! I then checked the refund policy, BIG surprise, no refunds!!!!! So I’m kicking myself in the ass and have spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to do my next step in the Lurn class. I know, there’s a sucker born every minute. Today that was me! 😩

Wow I was just looking at Lurn as well. Thanks for the heads up. I would say get any additional info from them and continue to hang out with us!!
I will get all the knowledge I can from them. I will continue with WA. The support here is the absolute best. I just need patience and persistence. I have the drive and determination!

Sorry to hear about your experience that unfortunately many will have similar stories to tell.
At this stage you can put it down to experience and move on.
You have already got some really good advice here at WA that I can see from the comments you already have.
Wealthy Affiliate does what it says on the tin.
The training here is priceless.
I would say that the starting to make money part will depend on your niche and how much time you put into it.
For some it will be at the 3 to 6 month mark, for others later.
But remember you are building a business from the ground up and it will need to crawl before it can walk.
With the step by step training here at WA you will success as many are doing.
I am really glad that you are here NOW because now you will see how a legit company works

I know Anik. He is a millionaire marketer but as a coach.. Hmmmm....
Stop chasing a short term making- money program. Another shiny object...
Try to reach Anik himself and ask for refund despite the Refund Policy says there is no refund. If a $49 product comes with a refund policy, why this $300 product has no refund? Another sign of bad product when it is not backed by a good refund policy.

It was $997 and I understand what you are saying. If I can’t get customer support to address my issue I hardly think they will let me get through to Anik. Of course I didn’t look into their refund policy beforehand. Lesson learned.

Good to see, someone with ambition. You right we all want it now, I think the world has made people think everything can be had now pay later when in reality we sow seeds and nurture what we grow and then we harvest. when done right we harvest over and over for many years. I love WA Community, i been here bit over 2 months and I here for the long run, Anything worth doing is worth doing right, If it is hard then it is probably worth doing, very little in life comes free with no effort. LindaLouise. So sorry to hear of the snafu. We have all been there in one form or another.
WA is only $49 a month and they offer discounts on premium memberships sometimes. Between the training ( I am only in course 3) and the support of others, the wordpress, jaxxy, etc, this is really a good deal. And if you decide you don't like it or it is not working for you, then drop the premium membership if you are month to month. (not sure how to handle it if you have a year paid)
Honestly, and WA indicates this in ways, this online affiliate marketing is not for impatient. And it takes work.
Personally, I have been working on my website for about 4 months and have not even approached signing up with any companies as an affiliate. I am still creating content and learning how to build a website.

I’ve paid for the year and don’t regret it. I got a great deal on Black Friday. No regrets. I’m happier than ever being here with WA. I’m going to learn all I can! Thanks for responding,

Sounds like you have all the inside makings of a great review
here - I would keep as much information as possible and get
that warning out there asap to keep others from falling prey
to that scam.
