Hi, can someone please tell me how to make the side column that appears on all of my pages narrower so that my blog posts and articles can have wider margins? I'm including a l

Hi Linda,
the size of the right column, also called sidebar, is set in the CSS file. In the CSS file, the designer basically lays out a web page. In your particular case, the size of the sidebar is set to 315 pixels, and items inside the sidebar 'float left', meaning they are left-aligned.
So if you want to make the sidebar smaller, you need to lower the 315 px to a smaller value. That's the tricky part.
I use a plugin called 'Simple CSS' that allows you to override values set in the CSS file. You would have to install that. If you want to go that route and you have it installed, I can tell you what to do next.

Thank you so much for that helpful info, Rudy! I contacted the person who did the website for me (which was long before I knew about WA) and asked him to change it for me. I don't feel real comfortable yet doing it myself.

Fair enough. TTYL. Rudi

Your website could have a virus. My antivirus program won't let me visit, it says it has a trojan.

Oh my goodness, Marion! Thank you for letting me know that. I will have to contact the person who did it for me to see what I can do. Not good!

It is explained in the training below.

Thanks, I'll take a quick look at that training. But mine is an existing website that I paid someone to create over 2 years ago, way before I ever heard about WA. It's a custom theme, so it sounds like it may be more complicated than I'm anticipating. It's for my books that I already have published.

It looks like when I apply that training it only reduces the size of my book covers which are in the sidebar but doesn't reduce the width of the sidebar.

Things like that need to be adjust into the editor
I advise you to start up a test website(you are allowed to have 25 http://siterubix.com) and go into the editor to find out where you can change the widget area. When anything goes wrong, delete it and start again:)

Thanks, Loes. This is an existing website, however, that I paid someone to create over 2 years ago, way before I ever heard about WA. It's a custom theme, so it sounds like it may be more complicated than I'm anticipating. I have my own products (books) that I sell on this site, but I do want to create another site sometime in the future.

I kind of have the same problem, with a different theme, the Happenstance theme. What theme are you using, then I can look into this for you. Thanks. Nancy.
