The amazing Power of Pinterest
Well!! I am flabberghasted, I really am.
You may or may not have seen the post about twitter, having a new account I started last Tuesday and tracking its growth for a week or two. That's about as long as I can remember to focus on something intently.
Anyway, at the time I briefly mentioned, I think, setting up a new Facebook and Pinterest page the day before which was Thursday, I think. It's getting lateish, heading towards midnight and actual timings get hard to remember.
So, now we are heading for the point of this post at last. Yay!!
So as the title says .... Pinterest is the interest tonight!
So I finished a blog post, finished 2 actually, but decided to share one tonight and one in the morning. Which leads me to sharing on Pinterest on the new business page. That was when my ghast was flabbered! Absolutely unbelievable!
As you can see in the screenshot this page has 5.3k monthly views. How is that possible, its only been there a couple of days. That is crazy!
I am baffled by that, I really am. 5,300 people have viewed it apparently in 2 days.
What do you think? Real numbers or not?

Pinterest is a goldmine of traffic because it's based on interests, not social connections. That means if a pin gets a lot of attention people are genuinely interested in your topic and what you have to say, or sell.
Once a pin gains traction, Pinterest then emails all of it's users who have checked off that topic of interest to look at that pin and all the similar pins. It's actually free advertising. It just keeps compounding, especially if other users like your pin and add it to their collection.
Pinterest is a hobby site, that's really all it is. But with lots of people spending lots of time on their computers and smartphones because they don't have much to do...a presence on there can really take off.
Congratulations! You've just discovered the power of Pinterest first hand. 😊

I do know a lot of people spend a lot of time on it and that it's a good business tool but not much more. Really need to utilise it properly.

Congrats Linda, I just set up my Pinterest account today, but I am not sure if I have done it correctly. it is confusing to me, maybe I am not sure what I am doing.

Be sure to add a variety of boards, name them for things that interest you and add a few pins to each one.
You can also link it to your website. Pinterest gives you the code to add to your website and then they verify it.
Add the link to your Pinterest page to your profile, then people from here can follow you.

YES! I am seeing so many people finding out that Pinterest, being a search engine and quite different to other social media, is a great tool to marry with a blog. I only just made this realisation yesterday, and was about to blog about it here on WA today.
I have yet to use this, or get my blog going but have been researching it this week, and based on that research, I am not surprised to see your results.
Apparently if you understand how to utilise their keywords ... and that they don't need to be as long compared with Google... it can make all the difference.

I intend to really learn a lot more about it this week after the new page having so many views in 2 days.
