As Daninho said you can shift them. Regarding the issue of width, you should check the size of sidebar for your theme and then choose banners accordingly.
To prevent the sidebar starting so high up, you can try to insert an empty visual editor at the top of your sidebar. If that doesn't work you can try to insert a spacer into your empty visual editor, that might work. A spacer is a plugin that you can download. Let me know if you need any assistance with this.
Regarding the content being too close to the sidebar, I believe that you need to adjust the padding on your sidebar. I'm not completely sure on how to do this though. Maybe someone else knows. If you cannot find the answer then it may be worth to use another theme.

Is it possible to use my primary menu titles as a drop-down for sub-pages only? I don't want the main titles to be clickable at all..only the drop-downs. I can't figure out how

Yes, you can.

and add to the menu, then you can add any sub page/ post to it

I have two blogs on my page and I chose to have them summarized. The newest one I just did today, opens just fine, but the older one will not open when I click on the "more" lin
try copying and pasting the content and making it into a new post and see if itworks, then delete the duplicate one.
