Harness the Power of Multi-Media
As content creators looking for optimum search engine optimization, we often focus on the written word. While this is obviously necessary, and very important, we need to work on diversifying our content strategy.
The statistics speak for themselves regarding content. The more high quality content you can create, the better off you will be.
Diversification is a fundamental strategy for several reasons.
- It allows your content to appeal to many different users. Some people prefer to read, while others want to see something, and others still might want to listen in. Each of us have preferences for how we learn best and we should create content that caters to as many people as possible.
- Mixing it up also allows your content to be more easily visible on various platforms. Your written content goes well on your blog. Videos add exposure to YouTube (now the the 3rd largest search engine), and podcasts work well with popular content aggregators like iTunes and TuneIn.
- Finally, some content is more effectively shared than others. People are more likely to share an image, infographic, or video. And we all know that sharing is huge for generating traffic and interest.

I have thought about adding video one day but not yet to that point. It is one of my future goals :)
Awesome goal to have! It can really pay off. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
Totally agree my friend. I make YouTube videos here and there and I can say from personal experience, it totally helps boost rankings and gain a new following.
