Jesse Owens - The Perfect Definition Of Success For Everyone

''We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.'' Jesse Owens

I know for an absolute fact the reason why I have and still achieve my goals is because I figured out a long time ago the true secret (for a lack of a better word) for succeeding....

DON'T QUIT - EVER!!I

I don't care what obstacle or challenge is placed in front of me. I will go over, around, under or even through it, to get where I want to go.

And not only that, I will leave bitchy, whiny, woe is me people in the dust. And I refuse to associate with negative people, they just slow you down - who has the time to be a constant cheerleader to someone who can't even be thier own cheerleader.

Heartless? Some may think so, for me, it's reality. Some people do not have what it takes to succeed at thier goals - the cold hard truth is not everyone is destined to or will succeed online success or anything other goal for that matter.

And if you read what Jesse Owens said it's usually a lack of one or in some cases all of those traits that is that persons downfall to success.

LACK of determination

LACK of dedication

LACK of self-discipline

LACK of effort

The only difference I know I have compared to many people is my mindset and I certainly don't lack determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.

Am I special NO!! (yeah maybe somedays I do - lol)

Do I have doubts YES!! (but i know how to overcome them)

I've made a point of arming myself with the mental tools I know is needed to achieve what I want to achieve.

My mindset is the most powerful tool I possess.

And it's yours as well. It's your mindset that sets you apart from achieving or not achieving. It's the foundation to everything!!

You could have every tool, teacher and advantage at your disposal and still FAIL!!

And the reason is just because you have all those advantages you're still going to hit challenges and obstacles, and if your mindset is easily susceptible to discouragement and you don't have the mental tools to overcome that discouragement

Then guess what? YOU FAIL!! Because you'll probably quit.

But if your mindset is of - I will not quit, I will figure this out, I will move past this - I will succeed. Then guess what? You will SUCCEED!!

I have this on my office wall;

In Order To Accomplish Something, I Must Be Willing To Do Whatever It Takes To Accomplish It

There is a cavet to that statement - when I say that, it also means not doing anything illegal or immoral to achieve my goals.

So as the statement says I must be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish my goal(s).

But here's what that statement does not say. It does not mean you have to take on every task necessary to accomplish what you want to accomplish. Meaning you don't have to do is all alone.

Case in point, you have the WA to lean on while on your online journey. Take full advantage of that - I surely do.

In fact getting what I want could not be more true when at the early part of my buisness career I sold my car to keep my first company going. And then 2 years later sold the company for a nice profit.

Mindset baby!!

But with that said, also don't be an idiot either, you have to be smart. Even if you have the don't quit for nothing attitude, and you're running west to see the sunrise you'll never succeed.

On any journey you're always going to be adjusting your course to get to where you want to go. That's part of the journey, and actually most of the fun.

You're going to try stuff, and some of it will work and some of it won't. For the stuff that does not work that's ok, that's how you find the stuff that does not work.

We all know the story that Thomas Edison who reportedly failed over 10,000 times on his journey to inventing the electric lightbulb. Did he quit? Well obviously not we have all kinds of lightbulbs now.

Instead he said - I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Imagine if he had a different mindset?

Edison is also famous for saying:

“Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

If everyone's path to success was as simple as a straight line everyone would succeed at everything they tried.

But it does not work like that.

The line of success is full of turns and twists - it's NEVER straight. It's how you adjust to those twists and turns that determines your success and yes your failure.

I believe in you

You're welcome

Thanks, Leo!
Just had a day of that, and I'm glad I did.....

There's one small part I don't agree with, though.....
Failure is absolutely no-one's destiny.
Failure is always a choice.....for everyone!

Thanks for a grand post!

Cheers
Therese

Yep and that choice all starts with your mindset

Yes☺

Thanks Leo for such a motivational post, I'm so grateful. Thank you!

You're welcome

Thanks so much for all this positivity Leo :)

You're welcome

Excellent words, Leo. When I was growing up my heroes were Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson and Benjamin O. Davis Jr. Those three men epitomized what I felt was the ideal 'negro' man. Being raised Canadian, I felt very little of the things they went through in the States, but I DID learn how to handle what I went through by listening to them.
Jesse Owens - athlete, fastest man on earth in his day. Successful beyond all expectations. Hitler hated him.
Jackie Robinson - athlete, one of the best baseball players of his era. First black man in the Hall of Fame.
Benjamin O. Davis Jr. - scholar, original commander of the Tuskegee Airmen, retired as a Lieutenant General in 1970. When he became a General in 1954, I was so proud, you would have thought that he was my Dad or somehow related to me.
I can identify with your thoughts and feelings about success. I learned from these three men, and a few others, that it may take 10,000 tries to get it right, but revisiting those 10,000 failures only drags you down.
Step over them, turn your back on them or just plain forget them, and you will succeed. That's why I'm here in WA.
Failure is not an option. Thanks for the reminders.

Thank you, I just watched a special all about Jackie Robinson - puts things into perspective pretty dame fast

Great blog...I agree with you. It's why poor people don't get rich, because, if they did, all they want to do is lie on the beach somewhere.....I don't think that is very helpful for society. I know you get wealthy by helping lots and lots and lots and lots of people. Funny thing is if you don't realise you are running backwards at full speed you are going to hit a lot of obstacles. Go with the flow is the oft used catchword....luckily here at WA people can help you go with the flow...but we all have different ways of comprehending things and some people find it more difficult than others, but there will be some people travelling the same path as yourself. But in our haste remember to pick up the ones that are falling, they will thank you for it!

State of mind baby - thanks for the comment

Amen!

Right back atcha
