My First Year With Wealthy Affiliate

Unofficially, I am celebrating my websites first birthday and my first year with Wealthy Affiliate.

I haven't received my 1 year badge yet, but I started with Wealthy Affiliate November 2017. I knew absolutely nothing when I first started here.

My Days As A Newbie

Like most of you I started with hesitation that soon turned into complete excitement. Once I was able to see that WA was totally legit, I had such an adrenalin rush.

I couldn't wait to get started. Of course, I saw dollar signs, and I am sure I am not the only one who goes through that in the beginning.

I started the training and couldn't believe that I was actually learning to build my own website. However, the concept of an online business still hadn't really sunk in.

As I continued with the lessons, the anxiety kicks in. I asked so many questions even though the training is easy to follow for some, those of us with absolutely no knowledge require further clarification and assistance.

It took me forever to totally understand Keywords. Actually, when I chose the name of my website, my ignorance turned out to be a blessing.

The name I had chosen showed <10 for the Avg and <10 for QSR. However, it is on the first page of Google and in the first position for the last 9 or 10 months, ahead of Forbes.

Anyway, I progressed slowly and made everything more complicated than it actually was. Being completely new to everything really took a toll on me.

What the heck is SEO, i have to write how much, oh and then there was, how am I suppose to get people to my site? I am not mixing my family and friends in with my business matters.

As we proceed through the training though, we tend to calm down once we start to understand more. At least I did. Thank Goodness.

A Great Opportunity (So I Thought)

As some of you know I was accepted to participate in the Super Wealthy Affiliate Challenge group.

Don't get me wrong, this is a GREAT opportunity. However, for me, I should have just stuck with the Bootcamp to get a better knowledge base before jumping into intensive training.

I need to go over things repeatedly before I start to understand. In this group, we have a lesson placed once a month with several tasks to go with it.

Yes it seems like enough time and should only cause a small amount of stress. No, not for myself and actually a few others in the group as well.

We need to complete the task as well as keep up with other demands of trying to build our online business.

On top of that, this was extensive training. A complete newbie jumping in was REALLY overwhelming. I did REALLY good in the beginning.

I just really started to struggle with learning everything in a month. I haven't given up, nor will I give up.

No Longer A Newbie

Wealthy Affiliate and this most awesome community has taught me so much and I am very appreciative to ALL of you who have put your time and effort into me.

I am no where near being an expert, but I am no longer a newbie either. I have gained a lot of knowledge here and have been able to help other new comers as well.

This is something that I knew I wanted to be able to do one day, but never imagined I would become an ambassador in such a great platform.

I came here a complete noob with hopes of building an online business and generate an income to help take the burden off of my AWESOME husband.

I haven't made it there yet, but in my route to get there, I want to help others who are trying to do the same as me.

It Isn't Just About Me

This newbie decided in the beginning that she wanted to help others find the same opportunity that she had found.

Helping others has always been in my blood. I know that I want to help not only those who come to my website, but I want to help anyone here as well.

If you have ever read any of my reviews on Wealthy Affiliate, you would see that I always include this amazing community and the knowledge they so openly share.

I haven't lost site of what I came here to do, I have just decided to help others in more than just one place.

You see, I know I will get to where I want to be and I don't WASTE time by being in the community to help others.

I work my you know what off, on my website. I have several post on the first page and have built my website trust is now 90%.

I have come a long way. If I had quit when the going got rough, I wouldn't know as much as I do now, nor would I be able to help others.

I know that this is the place for me, and it may take me longer than others to reach success with earning decent money, but I am successful in so many other ways and being here with you is one of them.

If you are struggling, not understanding, or just want reassurance, reach out. Don't get so overwhelmed and quit. Do what you came to do no matter if it takes you longer than you thought. You won't get there by quitting. Quitting is a habit that you don't want to create.

Thank you for taking the time to share in my first year at Wealthy Affiliate.

Wishing you the best in all you do

Lee Ann

Thanks Lee Ann....it's always good to hear encouraging news and confirming the importance of not giving up and staying w/ it regardless of how difficult and frustrating it can get sometimes for all of us, because, as you know, we've all experienced it, if you been in WA ant time at all......

Thank you for reading Terry.
I believe you are right my friend. We all need to know that we will get frustrated at some point in this journey.

Congratulations Lee Ann on your anniversary. I am also a part of the Super Affiliate Challenge and do find I need to go over several of the lessons more than once, but I would not think of giving up. Too much to learn and look forward to. See you at the end. Remember the race is not for the swift but those who endure.

Thank you very much Harvey. Great words of wisdom right there.
