Remember, Tomorrow is Not a Guarantee

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is well. I wanted to reach out and tell you what is happening in my journey. I have to take a short break. I started this process with the plan of being committed and consistent with posts. For the last week of March, I had a trip planned to take my son and grandson to visit my parents in Calgary for a week. I had pre-prepared some posts so I could continue without notice. I knew during the trip I would not likely be writing.

Unfortunately on the last night at my parents house, while we were all playing board games, my father had a stroke and passed away the following morning. We can be comforted in the fact that he didn't suffer and he was surrounded by people who loved him and that he loved dearly. His last days were filled with family, fun, laughter and joy.

The suddenness of the event was a reminder to all of us, that tomorrow is not promised. You don't know when your last day will be. Remember to not put off to tomorrow what you need to do today. Appreciate the people in your life, there is no guarantee that they will be there tomorrow.

Although I intend to be consistent, I am taking a break to help my family. My blog is about our diet and exercise program and my weight loss journey. The program has gone a bit off the rails this week, but I am forgiving myself. I am committed to getting back on track, but not this week.

You may not hear from me for a few days, or maybe a couple of weeks, but I will be back!!!

Until next time,

LaVerne

I'm very sorry to hear that, my friend!

God Bless you!

Jeff🙏🙏🙏

Thank you Jeff

You're very welcome, Laverne!

I am sorry to hear about your loss, Laverne. We are never prepared for the death of a parent much less when it is sudden. I am glad you are taking time to be with family.

Hi LaVerne, I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I know how you feel. I lost my father in 2004 when I was 40 years old; he was 66 years old and died from a stroke and a massive heart attack at the same time. You are right; tomorrow is not a guarantee. I also lost my late husband six years ago, he died at 67 from Pancreatic Cancer, and I am almost 60 years old. We should indeed enjoy life. We never know when our last day will be. Please take some time off to grieve and be with your family during the mourning.

thank you. I know it was a while ago, but I am sorry about your loss as well. Take care!
