How do you prepare for a post?

  • I'm curious as to how others prepare their posts/articles for their websites? Preparing for a post for me consists of:
  • Searching a keyword
  • Writing (hand writing in a notebook) a bunch of ideas about that keyword

    • 7y666666666`23 (apparently my cat wanted to help me write this as this step was his typing lol)
  • Google searching my ideas
  • Researching numerous articles and writing out key points
  • Then putting it all together on paper
  • Then putting it into a post

My hands are cramped, my eyes are tired and by the next day I can hit the publish button.

How about you? What do you do ?

About the same as you. I am in the cruelty-free beauty niche. Good keywords seem hard to come by and Everyone in this niche seems to post about the same things at different times. Which I could come up with a way to be more original. But yes, my general order of things is the same as yours, and mine also includes cat typing assistance from time to time!

I do most of the things that you do to be honest. I normally try to come up with my own recipes and ideas and then I actually make the smoothie (thats my niche) and then if its good, I look up for the nutritional facts of the ingredients and come up with a post :D

Don't you run out of recipes idea's ? That is mine as well. lol

Sometimes I'm walking and I see something that triggers an idea, I come it with a good title, and I am on my way!

I prepare very much the same way. If I have any knowledge of the process or product, I try to insert that into the article. I also like to somewhere insert a question or two to get some thoughts or more interest coming from the client. I don't do this all the time, just where it sees to fit.

That's a good idea, I may have to borrow that ... lol

I have a process very similar to yours. It works

Well I have only been writing posts for a month now and my method is to find a key word or phrase and then I just start writing. I just let it flow off the top of my head. I use Microsoft Word first to spell check then once I feel my post is finished I copy and paste it in my website. So far all of my posts have been on training on my particular niche but now I'm going to have to get into the research and reviewing different products and will probably have to write things down first on paper then type it on the computer.

I'm not too fixed on keyword precision writing WITHIN WA. It's external posting that needs to be attracting traffic!

Well done Laurie.
You put me to shame!
With writing posts for WA, I try to write helpful posts that answer people's difficulties with online matters.
Sometimes I post inspirational things!
When writing posts for my websites, I do keyword research and if the keyword is suitable in terms of traffic I just write what I know about the subject.
Nothing too scientific about my writing.
I need to take a leaf out of your book, I think!

That's a great way to come up with an article. Thank you for sharing. I'm trying to write the first post for my site and I feel like I don't know where to start. I have so many ideas. I think that I will try writing those in paper and then decide which one would like to develop. Thanks, Laurie.

You're welcome :) hope it helps..

Thanks for sharing, Laurie.
