Now really! google adsense is invading the comment space
Hello everybody, this is not my monthly post.
This is an unfortunate observation and therefore a complaint.
The new Gmail setup
Just recently, all people having a Gmail account were presented with a new and colorful outlay.
I personally do not like it as to me it seems not so clear in appearance as the old Gmail. A lot of small twiddly things which have not improved it at all. I tried to go back to the old version but that is not possible anymore.
Advertisement overload
It is not only a new Gmail setup but now I am invaded with advertisements where ever I go. That did not happen in the past either.
To top all this today I discovered something which really irritated me.
What is Google Adsense doing?
Time ago I installed Google Adsense. I left the choice where to put adds up to them. It looked quite decent when checking incognito. An add at the top of my post, sometimes an add somewhere in between, and also some adds mixed up with the widgets on the right sidebar. The overall impression was ok. Now it comes! I happened to look at an older post where I received a long comment on which I wrote quite a long reply. The Comment and the reply were cut up in pieces through some 5 adds in total, really pitiful and ugly. I do not like it.
This change has come at the same time as the new Gmail setup plus the overload of adds. Where is this leading to?
I would welcome your story and or opinion on this.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

It always need some time to get adjusted with new things, new designs and processes.
I have not signed up for Google Adsense. I don't have enough traffic for getting approved, I think, and I don't like having ads all over the site, which, doesn't fit my content. Now you are telling me that the ads are even more disturbing.
Gracias, Taetske, for informing about all this.
Abrazos,
:-) Pernilla
Good evening Pernilla,
Thank you for your comment. Michael has looked at the YouTube Loes forwarded. Probably tomorrow we will have 2 computers, side by side, and try to curb Google Adsense.
I do not have much traffic either but got approved immediately, probably as my website is a take it easy one. It only has informative posts on what I find interesting or worries me. It can not be considered a selling site.

It sounds like adds have taken over the world.
I don't use them for now, mainly because I don't have the traffic, and when I do go on a site and they are all over the place, it is a real turn-off. It's not the first time I just closed the page, and moved on.
Good afternoon James,
As I said in my post it looked ok in the beginning but now it is like an invasion and not ok anymore. Thank you for stopping by.

Where I am, it's nut gathering season taetske. Google, as you know, has has=d it's hardship recently. Since their platform gives them the advantage of distributing their marketing messages. They're going for it.
Like you I consider popups and commercialism obscene in a commercial forum!
Good afternoon Mike,
I will follow the YouTube from Loes to be able to manage Google Adsense to how I like it. No more chopping up of comments/replies from advertisements on my websites.

Hi Taetske, I agree with you. I do not like the new Gmail. I was quite happy with the old version too.

Good Morning Wayne,
These type of changes do not make me happy.
For example, I renovated the house in 1998 and everything is still standing in the same place. When I like something I will normally like it for a long time.

Good afternoon Mary,
Thank you for your comment. I hope you do not get a shock like I did when confronted with the new setup of Gmail. One does get used to it, we have to, but I do not think it is an improvement.

Well I am going to check my Gmail and I will get back to you on that I will PM and I you know what is going on.
Your friend
Mary
Hi Taetske, I had auto ads from AdSense, and I stopped that, and filled in manually where I want the ads to display
Good afternoon Loes,
I think you are right. I will have to change that as it is getting out of hand.

Thank you Loes, I need this.
In the beginning, we tried to do that but found it complicated so we eventually gave them the permission to do it. It looked ok but now they have changed their strategy, they have become more aggressive. I will not have comments and or replies chopped up by adds, no!

Glad I found this back, I got it somewhere in a thread from Jerry, I had to search deep for this video, greetz back from up North:)
Hi Taetske...Gmail is not my primary email account because for me it just isn't user friendly. I, too, find it so busy with information I didn't ask for nor do I want. Unfortunately, Google is in control for much of our online work so the account is necessary. I haven't used Adsense but your experience is confirming not to. Let's see what others say.
Debbie
Good afternoon Debbie,
Thank you for stopping by. All this advertisement is getting on my nerve. When I put on the computer in the morning I always check the weather report first. I have it as an icon on my top bar. It is English and very handy, 1,5, or 8 days forecast and you can get the whole world with maps or graphics. All was fine but now it is being inundated by clothes, trips, insurance, you name it. I do not like it. As I only do books on Amazon I thought Adsense might be a means to earn some money, nothing yet, only hassle.
