Brick Wall!

What happens when you get overwhelmed?

The brick wall effect is going on in my neck of the woods. Maybe I am just doing way to much, maybe not enough, stuck in a rut where i cannot seem to find which direction to go. It happens to the best of us at times and it is now my time to scale that Brick Wall. I can keep on typing trying to produce content but my brain is slower then the thought it is producing or trying to produce.

Solutions

Hope I can remedy this soulution or is there a quick fix to this? I can do several things when this happens;

  • Lay down and curse every thought I may have had in the last 3 days
  • Beat my dog and ask him for help( might not be a suitable solution)
  • Clear my thoughts and step away from it all for a few days
  • Hang around and let the inspiration of the community take over and compel me once again.

I know there are more options but even they are escaping my thought processes right now, so I will just wait until things start to get a little clearer and then maybe just maybe I can get out of this rut I am in. I hate this funky rut. Until next time, enjoy your day and if you can leave me something inspiring to read. Looking forward to hearing your stories of how you got passed that wall.

Thanks Forrest, sometimes it is good to step away and I thought of that too but I'm so stubborn at times and my thirst for learning something new drives me insane. I do need to back away for a bit and I will check out that webinar. I appreciate the link as well.

yeah, no sense in slapping yourself silly, sometimes we all have a tendency to over think things.

Lamont, we all have these days. When it happens to me, I break from the site and view some trainings here, look at and comment on the sites of others, google other blogs in my niche for inspiration, look over the google alerts I have set up etc. Also, very good wabinar this past friday by jay about content strategy. replay is available

Hi Lamont.
I understand what you mean when you say a brick wall.
Not sure this is the motivation you are looking for, but I will give it a try.
We all reach a point where we wonder if what we are doing is worth it, and we all sometimes wonder if we know what we are doing once we made the choice to try.
But never forget what actually brought you here in the first place.
I believe we all are looking for the same thing, and that is what led us here.
The brick wall you are facing now is minor compared to all the brick walls you ran up against in the nine to five world. This brick wall belongs to you and isn't created by others that you have no control over. You are looking for that freedom that comes from having battled brick walls you couldn't tear down.
As they say, this too shall pass and control still belongs to you.
No matter what the outcome you will always know that you tried.
Anything worthwhile in life comes from devotion and persistence.
I am a firm believer in always moving forward and once I know something is worthwhile, I don't see brick walls. I see a challenge to either go over or under. Maybe even around to one side or another, but I do not see a wall. I see something I will get through, even if I have to break through it. Where there is a will, there is a way.
The nice thing about having obstacles in my path is that it gives me the opportunity to prove that I can get past them.
Your ability to see these obstacles is a good thing. You can plan on your course of action before you hit that wall, rather than trying to recover after you have hit it.
You will find the determination to keep moving forward, because it is what led you here.
Hope that makes sense?
Cameron.

Cameron it makes plenty of sense and as I was helping someone else tonight with one of their problems it made me realize that sometimes you have to shake things up so to speak, change and look at things from different angles and view points and at that point I can get that pendulum swinging again or turn that hour glass over for a fresh grain of time. This is why I love this community even if I don't make a dime with my site which is still under construction by the way but coming together and it's like the motto leave no man behind I will hold onto that while moving forward. I have always been a helper even when I needed help and it goes a long way and it's showing right now. Happy that that wall does belong to me and I will make sure to sidestep any obstacle because I choose to see what's on the other side of it. Thanks for your kind words and I wish the best for your success.

A confused mind is a healthy mind my friend

Barry

Well if that's the case I'm confused as hell lol. Let the confusion continue, only if it allows me to prosper from it. Thanks for the follow as well Barry.

So sorry, I'm currently facing a few brick walls myself, but I'm actually hanging around to absorb the WA family's inspiration.

Have yourself a fun time while you're letting your thoughts flow.....
Blessings,
Shirley

That inspiration always works, it's just a matter of time, thanks for your comment Shirley, and good luck to you getting past those bricks. See you on the other side.

Thank you Lamont, you are a inspiration. God bless.......
Shirley

It's just one of the ways we can hit these bricks. Hopefully, if you hit it hard enough, you will crash right on through!

Right now, I'm having serious issues with both of my computers, a replacement for my desktop which lost its hard drive last month - Windows 8 is giving me boatloads of problems with the display, amongst other things.

The laptop I'm using keeps running out of memory and Chrome has crashed some 25 times since this morning!

I'm about to walk away from all this and go do something else, and then come back to it.

You should do the same with your content. It will give you time to create strategies and how you are going to write it.

Let's both do this right now...

Oh trust me Daniel I feel your pain, effective 12 am Germany time I will refrain from all contact with my computer and Mobile device(s) I need this break and it might help out a lot. I am right behind you on this one. Go back to the old fashioned way and read a good book that isn't electronic.

Well, for me...

I've given the computer some stuff to do - downloading three web documents from the servers here - I'm going to lose the domains because I refuse to pay another year to GoDaddy just to be able to unlock and transfer them to NameCheap.

I've made ground today! The last of my domains are vacated from GoDaddy! That's a success, since I had 24 sites on there during my stay. I'm done with this upsell-crazy GoDaddy and for me, it's StopDaddy and they ain't my Daddy anymore!

I'm off to do some yard work and get some exercise :) I'm waiting for the second of three downloads through my ftp client before I get the last one going and then off I go...

We all hit brick walls sometimes, when this happens to me I tend to have a day off put the whole thing out of my mind and do something completely different, you come back next day totally refreshed.

I certainly was thinking that and I was thinking I might need to actually disconnect from the Internet for a 24hr period or at least one day to gain new perspective of my DIRECTION. Thanks Pink

It works for me, we all need down time .Good luck for your future rhe brick wall will go.

Im counting on it, but i think the more I conversate the more the walls seem to be dropping. Maybe this is what i needed so i do not feel so alone when I am trying to think. I should thank each and every one of you who ever been there and also helping me through this rough patch.

I am pleased I could be of some help, the people here at WA are really supportive there is always someone there with help and support.

I love the suggestion by Tony Robbins...write for the dustbin. Just write knowing that it doesn't matter and you will likely surprise yourself without the pressure. I've written some stuff this way, ok no prizes but it gets things flowing.

Looking to try just about anything right now. Thanks Alex.

Just got to push through! Always take things one step at a time and attack that next step with total focus and drive.

You are correct, I think I just need a little break, brain overload!! Thanks Dan

Earl Nightingale has great solutions in " Lead the Field". Listen his CD, you will find mines of diamonds.

I will have to give it a listen!!! Thanks Nemira

You are welcome:)
