Hey Everybody,

Today, I have some exciting updates to share, including an update to the Hubs platform on the premium level side and some improvements to the starter experience here at Wealthy Affiliate. I’d love to get your feedback on both of these updates, but before we dive in, it’s time to crack open this week’s beer!

This week’s beer is from Field House, a brewery out of Abbotsford, BC, just outside of Vancouver. They do a lot of experimental beers, and this one is called Hazy, a Hazy IPA. As expected, it’s a little on the sweeter side, which is typical for this style.

By the way, we’re running the 50 Sales Challenge right now (hence the glass)—if you hit 50 sales by the end of the year, you’ll be joining us in Las Vegas for an all-expenses-paid trip!

Now, without further ado, let’s get into the updates!

Key Updates:

1. Starter Experience Updates

We’ve made a couple of significant changes to improve the starter experience:

  • Welcome Video: After building a hub, new members will now see a “Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate” video explaining how their hub works. We noticed many users weren’t going through the step-by-step training, so this video aims to guide them and show how powerful the hub can be, especially for content creation and research.
  • Core Task Highlighting: We’ve updated the task interface. Previously, the active task was highlighted in blue, but it wasn’t as noticeable. Now, the current task is highlighted with an orange border and yellow background, making it much easier to see where you are in the training.
  • Upgrade Page: We’ve also made some updates to the upgrade page. We rearranged the content, added new testimonials, and refreshed the design.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these updates—what do you think of the new design? We’re also testing out different training flow designs, including a top-down approach, so you may see more iterative changes soon.

2. Premium Level Updates: Niche Research Section

Now, on the premium side of things, we’ve made some exciting updates, especially to the Niche Research Section. Let me explain:

  • Improved Niche Research Output: We’ve spent time training our AI models to produce more reliable and relevant content ideas. Some of you may have noticed that the results weren’t as robust before, but now you’ll see more sophisticated and comprehensive content ideas within your niche. Whether you’re building out your content or revenue streams, this section is now far more efficient.
  • Pain Points: One of the most valuable sections in the niche research tool is the “Pain Points” section. These are the challenges people face within your niche—in my case, it’s related to making paper airplanes (yes, that’s a real niche!). These pain points give you excellent topics to address in your content, which you can bulk write and rank for.

You can now bulk write content based on these ideas in just a few minutes, making your content creation process highly efficient.

If you haven’t checked out the niche research section recently, I encourage you to give it a look. It’s available to all premium members, and with the updates, it’s more powerful than ever.

I’d love to get your feedback on these updates—from the improvements to the starter experience to the advancements in the niche research section. There’s a lot more exciting stuff coming next week, and I’m really looking forward to sharing that with you. :)

Core “Business Start Up” Training

Hi Kyle.

I like the starter video. Starting is the hardest part of building a business, I think. Knowing how to navigate the Hub is a great start. Of course, starters must go through the step-by-step training. It is critical for getting off to a good start.

I agree that the Niche Research section is underutilized. I'm guilty of not using it myself.

Yes, starting is the hardest and removing any level of friction/confusion is an ongoing goal here within WA and the Hubs experience.

Hopefully with these latest updates, the Niche Research section is going to be heavily used by those building out their businesses. :)

Good morning Kyle,

I hope you had a good weekend. I'm a bit late listening to your video, but here is some feedback.

That's a very good starting point for beginners with the "how your hub works"; a great and clear place to start.

The yellow border looks quite clear and shows members exactly where they are at.

Out of interest, my pricing page does not show The Premium Plus + Accelerated offer. My landing page still shows as the traditional premium plus page, which I know changed some time ago, but I have never been able to see it. Even if I paste the link into another browser, it still shows the old version. There are no testimonials to show.

I must admit I haven't really used the niche research section of the hub, Kyle; it's probably something I need to play around with.

Have a great week and thank you for the video.

Roy

We don't want to overwhelm people externally with too many different offers, but we want to have that offer (P+ Accelerated) for our more advanced power users. So that is why we don't include it on the outside, and that is going to be the format moving forward as well.

And definitely do check out the Niche Research section when you get a chance, it is going to fuel you with lots of ideas to drive your business in the foreseeable future. :)

That makes a lot of sense, Kyle, I wondered why it wasn't showing!

With the time of year coming up with my off-line business is quieter, I will have more time to experiment with the Niche Research section and other tools that you have to offer.

Have a fantastic day.

Roy

HEY, KLYE EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD OVER HERE. THINGS MUCH BRIGHTER & VISIBLE. AND THE BEER LABEL IS A COOL POP COLOR AS WELL.

Awesome, glad you like this updates Sy. I appreciate it. ;)

Setting the training to the right of the "Step" box is a winner.

Most people, myself included, want to click on something to see the results to the right. Lining the steps up top to bottom versus left to right will accomplish this.

Putting it below is somehow not drawing my attention.

I have not looked into the research tabs in a bit as my main blog has taken on a life of its own.

I will be checking out the new research tools with my soon-to-be-born StepSavvy.com marking the benefits of Volksmarching, something I enjoyed during my time living in the Maastricht Netherlands and exploring "West Germany".

Posts and updates will lead the way on these new updates.

Thanks for the consistent improvements.

MrDon

Thanks for your feedback here Don, that is the direction you are likely going to see us heading with the training. Always evolving and improving based on feedback, with no ego.

And yes, definitely check out the new Niche Research section, you are going to get plenty of ideas that you can utilize drive your business. ;)

Those are awesome updates! But I do have one suggestion for the core training which I believe will cause more people to have sucess as Affiliate Marketers. I suggest that there be a lesson added about Topic Clusters, Content Silos, and Topical Authority. A lesson that compares and contrasts each content structure and how to implement each modal in order to gain topical authority. I already like that there is a lesson on interlinking posts. And I love how the Hubs in a way already gives us topic clusters. However, a specific lesson on topic clusters and how to interlink them for topical authority is something I believe will cause more newbies to find direction and have sucess at Wealthy Affiliate.

I learned of Topic Clusters on YouTube outside WA, so I believe having a lesson here on it would he good. And I'm aware that there are premium plus classes on Topic Clusters, but I believe this is such a vital aspect of ranking on Google that it's worthwhile to consider adding a lesson on it to the core training. Thank you for reading my suggestion! I'm amazed at all these new things WA is doing!

Doesn't the hubs kind of hide that concept by creating content clusters? You just have to tell people to write for each group before going to the next

The Hubs indirectly helps people make topic clusters and I love that! But the downside is that there is no clear and direct teaching on topic clusters and interlinking those clusters in order to make thick content that isn't thin in Google's eyes. There is no teaching on creating pillar blog posts for each topic cluster with smaller blog posts interlinked with that pillar post. And there is no teaching on how to interlink those topic clusters either. I believe a few clear lessons in the SEO section of the core training would significantly help making WA more valuable in other people's eyes. It would significantly boost WA as a training platform to compete with training such as Authority Hacker. So I hope Kyle and Carlson will consider adding detailed training about that to their core training.

It is true that there is premium plus training on those things, but I believe this is vital training that should be accessible to all premium members.

Yeah, that is exactly the intent of the categories area, these are all in essence topic clusters and you can create as many of those as you like..and now with the bulk writing, you could create a 10 article content cluster in a matter of minutes.

So I think perhaps relabelling that section to something that is more relevant to topic "clusters" could be a good idea, because that is in essence what they are.

That sounds like a great idea!
