My story today is about Bulgarian Rose. I live in a beautiful area called "Valley of the Roses" . This is a place in the middle of Bulgaria between too green mountains and the name comes from the rose bushes cultivated here. There are 200 kinds and more than 18000 variety of roses in the world and the Bulgarian one is ‘Rosa Damascena Mill.‘ Rosa Damascena is cultivated in Bulgaria more than 350 years for producing of organic rose oil.
That beautiful flower has tender pink /white/ petals with pleasant and remembered flavor. It personifies the freshness of the nature, aesthetic in Bulgarian culture and pursuit of beauty and happiness. The oil-bearing rose needs to be picked early in the morning, when dew-drops are still on the petals. These drops keep the rose oil and they are the key for the high quality of the rose products.Rosa Damascena blooms in May till beginning of June.
