Last Update: Feb 23, 2023
It's no secret that technology has changed the way we write. These days, more and more people are using some form of AI to help them with their writing. Whether it's a simple grammar checker or a full-blown AI writing assistant, plenty of tools are out there to help you get the job done. But what if you're worried about losing your "voice" when you start using these tools?
More and more people are using AI to help them with their writing.
There are pros and cons to using AI to help with your writing. On the plus side, it can be a great way to get extra help with proofreading or even develop new ideas. On the downside, you run the risk of losing your unique writing voice if you rely too heavily on AI assistance.
This can be in the form of a grammar checker or a full-blown AI writing assistant.
Writing is a form of personal expression, so it's natural to be worried about losing your unique voice if you start using AI tools to help with your writing. However, there are ways to use AI assistance without compromising your voice.
For example, you can choose a grammar checker that identifies errors and suggests corrections instead of making changes automatically. This way, you can decide which suggestions to use and which to ignore. Or, you can opt for an AI writing assistant that offers tips but allows you to approve or reject them before they're implemented.
While these tools can be helpful, some worry about losing their "voice" when using them.
People are always looking for ways to improve their writing. One way that has gained popularity recently is using AI or artificial intelligence. Some people worry about losing their "voice" when they start using AI tools, but there are ways to make sure that doesn't happen.
Choosing the right tool is one way to keep your voice when writing with AI. There are many options, so you want to find one that fits your needs and style.
Ultimately, it's up to you to decide how you want to use AI tools to enhance your writing—but with the right tools and a little bit of caution, AI can be a powerful ally in helping you express yourself more effectively.
Thanks for this, Kevin! I have decided that I will keep producing my own writing the way that I do it for now!
Great post, Kevin! 👍
Grammarly Pro frequently tries to rephrase what I write using its AI algorithms. If it doesn't sound like the way I would phrase it, I reject the suggestion, even though my phrasing may not be strictly correct from a grammatical point of view.
It's essential to know your audience. For example, I wouldn't write on my guitar website the way I would write for a research paper in a medical journal.
My guitar readers expect a certain level of informality and use of musical lingo that might not even be found in an English dictionary. 😎
AI is fraught with issues still - old or mis-information, definite biases, refusal to talk about selected issues. it still reflects the persona of the programmer.
One other great tool to use to check your content is Grammarly. They have a free version that is quite popular with WA members. They also have an affiliate program on ShareASale.com.

Greaf read Kevin!
I am a firm believer that these AI tools can aid us when used correctly in our content creation and research, but that is all for now...
Who knows what the future holds though my friend!!
